We have been DVC members since 2009 but we have not done a split stay the entire time. Our usual is to have food delivery the first day that will last us the entire week (water, breakfast materials, etc). However, with out having a split stay, I don't know how we can transfer our water and food? Will Bell Services transfer from one resort to another (BLT to SSR in our case)? If so, what is the common method? One time use coolers? Planning on keeping bags from original delivery.

I always do careful meal planning. In this situation, I’d do two orders—one for stay one, one for stay two. My goal is always to run the food supply to zero, so I’d just adjust the grocery order accordingly. I wouldn’t want to pack up all the food for transfer and potentially deal with changes in temperature, possible spoilage and breakage. It works very well.

We often do split stays. Bell services will move the food/drinks. We separate the items that need to be refrigerated and frozen in different bags so they know how to store (and let them know). We've never had any problems except once during our most recent trip in June where they put the ice cream in the refrigerator instead of freezer... which didn't end well for the ice cream but wasn't a biggie.

They won’t transfer refrigerated or frozen items, but if you transport them they’ll store them.

They will transfer other grocery items if packed, but if you have to transfer your cold items yourself, you might as well transfer everything yourself and then check it with Bell Services.

Agree, thanks!

We have now begun using Uber to transfer ourselves everything since they won’t take our cold things.

Last summer, we were visiting MK the day we were leaving VGF and going to RIV. So, we left everything with bell services at VGF, and then went back there to collect it after we spent the morning at MK and went to RIV.

I have an insulated backpack that I put my chilled things in the morning of a move. I put things in plastic bags and then in the backpack. I travel over to the next nights resort and give the bags and the backpack (separately) to the bell staff. They will keep your items cold or frozen once you deliver it to them. You can pick them up when you check-in or have them delivered once you get into your room.

I apologize for giving outdated information - I didn't realize the rules changed since the last time we went... thanks for correcting me! And now I know for our next trip!

If you have a cooler with your refrigerated items, will they transfer that along with suitcases? We have a split stay as well and I was planning on foregoing frozen items, but getting stuff that can stay in a cooler for the day.

No, you'll need to transfer any refrigerated/frozen items yourself.

Thank you, this has been a solution I have been rolling around with. I think a cooler and/or a cooler backpack with an Uber are the best call! Thanks All!

We have a GFV/BWV split stay and have my mom using a scooter.
I plan on having her scooter to MK and taking the bus to BWVs.

I plan on taking our bags and Ubering to BWVs. We don't have park plans that day, my sister is suppose to land at 9 am at MCO and have plans for Sangria University.
I'm stalking the day prior to when we are suppose to leave GF for BW since I figure for some extra points, I can also have our room ready when we arrive in the morning.
