We are booked two weeks in January. Family of five with three kids 6, 6, 11. Currently booked 8 nights BWV standard, 6 nights AKL standard.

Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani is our home resort and we love it and the standard view. Starting to think I should cancel BWV and do the one resort. We booked BWV so we could enjoy the reno and being near two parks. We are in a one bedroom.

What do you think?

I would go with AK. That way you will have beds for everyone, no sleeper chair in BW and the 2nd bath will come in handy at AK-K.

Tough decision. BWV is my favorite (tied actually with BLT) and we usually get a one bedroom just for the two of us. Although BWV has the split bath, having that extra toilet and shower at AKL is so convenient. Could you maybe shorten the BWV end just for the convenience of visiting Epcot & Hollywood Studios? And make it a longer stay at AKL? The BoardWalk has so much to offer with entertainment and places to eat. But the one-bedrooms at Kidani are really roomy (just got back from my first stay there). The lack of any kind of counter service except the bar area was a little tough, but we did utilize our kitchen for breakfast and sandwich making. And most important, the little gift shop had coffee for your mugs in the morning.

Personally, I hate to move, but since you are staying two weeks it really won't be an inconvenience. When we moved from Jambo to Kidani, we let them transfer the big luggages and we stored little stuff in the car until our room was ready....went out to MK for most of the day and it was ready as we got off the bus.

Own at both, both are good. Like others, I do not like moving when there, even if it is two weeks. However, that is not the real issue. Kidani 1BRs are about 100 sq ft larger than BWV 1BRs, have the second bathroom. and can easily sleep 5 with the pull-out chair. At BWV, you will have the odd child out for which you need to provide your own bedding such as an air mattress which will take up additonal room in the smaller BWV unit. Some are fine with that arrangement but it is not the best.

Thanks for the replies. My oldest doesn't mind the lack of bed, but the comfort of Kidani is appealing. As the trip nears, the idea of a move appeals less and less--even with the new Reno. In the end it's just a room. I'm also thinking how I use that second shower ever morning.

I love BWV, but would go with AKV - Kidani. Two baths, a bed for all & MORE SPACE! Plus moving with 3 kids can't be much fun.

I hate to move too, even with just two of us. Although most of our stays are one night in a studio, and then to a one bedroom, but usually the same resort. I just hate to use up a Sat. night of points on a travel day.

OP....since you know the drill with the busses and you have 5 people, I can see the appeal of staying the whole time at Kidani. The walk to Jambo was not too bad....but we were half-way down the curve, by Zasu (?) elevator. What a beautiful lobby at Jambo.

Just back from 1 night AKV and then 7 nights BWV and then 4 nights SSR. I'd say stick with AKV for the whole trip. Here's why:
1- moving can be a pain and we found we didn't get next room until 4:15 at BWV and then 4:00 at SSR...lot's of waiting for a room
2- BWV was still under construction and our room was near it and it was LOUD plus 1 or 2 of the 3 elevators were down the whole week (I guess from the construction)...might be done by January though
3- AKV is our fave too...dining options are wonderful and extra bathroom and sleeper chair...plus all the animals

Just switched to Kidani for the whole stay. Ill probably make someone on a waitlist happy today. Thanks everyone.
