Split stay between 2 resorts with dining plan ?

Ok I am looking at splitting our stay.

Trying to keep the cost below 3000.00 so staying at one of the mods with dining for June 2 - 12 is higher than that.

So I was thinking about this.

Pop Century June 2 - 8th with 10 day hoppers and dining plan, Then move to CB from the 8-12th room only since I will buy the passes with the first part of our stay with the package for the dining plan.

This shows 2794.38 for 2 adults.

How much of a nightmare is switching resorts when we have the hoppers on the first part of the stay ? I'm assuming that we will be able to keep using the pass for our whole stay since we are buying 10 day passes. We will just not have the dining plan for the last 4 days we are there. Which isn't too bad we can live with that.

I tried doing it with dining for both part of the stay but because we would have to have 2 reservations and have to buy the park passes twice to do that it was a bit pricey. It would cost an extra 548.00 to do that. And I just don't see it worth that.

I wish I could book it as one reservation with a split stay so that i didn't have to buy the tickets twice.

Well was the $548 for adding just 1 day tickets per person on the reservation.. since that is all you have to do to get the ddp.. that does not seem right

It was adding just one day base tickets so we could get the dining plan. and that was the price difference. I would guess it's because the dining plan alone would be 312.00. So that means it's an extra 238 for 2 - 1 day base tickets. does that sound right ?

POP:

Room (6 nights @ $109/night + 12.5% tax) = 735.75
2 10 Day Park Hoppers @ 277.97 each = 555.94
Dining Plan for 6 nights = 467.88

TOTAL FOR POP: 1759.57

CBR:

Room (4 nights @ 175/night + 12.5% tax) = 787.50
2 1 Day Base Tickets = 142.72
Dining Plan for 4 nights = 311.92

TOTAL FOR CBR: 1242.14

TOTAL FOR BOTH: 3001.71

Calculating without tax on rooms, it's 2832.46, but that's including tax on the tickets.

so assuming your prices didn't include tax, that sounds about right to me. that's with standard views at both.

I have no clue where I got the first price.

I just rechecked and if got the same price as you did with standard view,

If I went preferred view at Pop, water view at CB it would be 3246.96 which is still not that much over what I wanted to spend.

Now is it difficult to do a split stay like that with the dining plan ? Is it a dining plan nightmare ?

Would we have different keys for each stay so that the day we check out of Pop our credits don't expire until that night. And then we start with the credits from CB the next day ?

yes, you'll actually have some overlap where the credits for CBR (once you check in) will be available while any unused credits at POP will continue to be good for the rest of the day.

i think your biggest trick is not using the CBR room keys as your admission media to the park by mistake. but you can mark them. you possibly might be able to get CBR to separate the tickets from the POP resort ID, but I wouldn't recommend it if you have dining credits left to use from POP.

Now with that one ticket being just a base ticket and the other one being a hopper with water park days how will I know which one is just a base ticket ?

Can they put the one day one park ticket on a separate card ? So that if we don't use it during this stay we could use it another visit ?

Will they use the card I was given at Pop to add my CB stay ? Or issue a whole new card ?

that would be best, use'm or lose'm. each time you redeem a particular credit type, you'll get a receipt that shows the balance you have of that particular type. and note you'll have a fridge in your room at CBR, so that's also something you might want to keep in mind for your snacks.

the key to the world which acts as your ticket and room key will have the resort name on it. POP would be the one you want to use.

it gets really difficult to separate tickets, especially when the dining plan is involved. you can always ask, but a previous experience i've heard of just had a CM writing 'DO NOT THROW THIS AWAY' on the card in marker. even when the resort stay ends, the ticket on it is good indefinitely.
