I want to book a resort for Sun night- Fri night in January. When I looked yesterday this stay was available with the Visa discount. Now, it is only available Sun- Thurs nights but Fri night is also available as a stand alone night. If I make 2 reservations can they link them together? I don't really want to change rooms for one night. And will it affect FP reservations?

Last year we added a night on the front end of our stay at FQ. It was totally not a problem and no room changes were made. We were not going to a park that day so I'm not sure how it will affect your FP reservations.
Good Luck!

Yes, they can link them but they are still 2 separate reservations.

I don't really want to change rooms for one night.

Because they are technically 2 separate reservations, there is a chance you will have to switch rooms. However, if the 2 reservations are for the exact same room type then your odds are very good that you can stay in the same room. When you check in for the 1st reservation mention the 2nd one and ask if they have you staying in the same room. If not, then ask if you can. It's best to do that then rather than when the 1st reservation ends.

And will it affect FP reservations?

It won't.

It's the luck of the draw. I would think if it's not available now that the room type is not available for all nights, just thinking that don't know for sure. I added a night on check in at BW once, same type room and had to move for that one night. Since it was already a split stay starting with two night at AKV then moving to BW, that made it a 3 split stay but we knew we were going to want that extra night so sucked it up.

Ok. So if we do have to switch rooms for the last night- will the resort move our bags for us while we are at the parks that day?

Bell Services will hold your bags while you are away. Then when you return you can either grab them from Bell Services or call them from your new room and they will bring them up.
