I have a reservation for AKV that a DVC member made for me and initially I was flying in the night before and planning on staying in the MCO area. However we got a really good deal on a flight that arrives at noon so I went back to the rent trade board and added a day with the same resort same type room. Do you think they may let us stay in the same room or do we have to check out and be "homeless" for an afternoon. I was prepared for this when we added the day but I was hoping they might let us stay in the same room.

We did something similiar a couple of years ago. Rented points for half our stay and used our points for the other half. We didn't have to change rooms. We just went down to the front desk and checked out of the first reservation and checked into the new one. I can't remember if we got new keys or not... I think we did. So you shouldn't have to change rooms!!

HTH!!

Add a notation to your reservation(s) a least a week prior to check in and discuss your plan with the Front Desk when you first check in. Don't wait until later or it may be too late for them to let you keep the same room.

Thank you so much for your replies! I will definitely talk with them before. To make a notation on the resies does it have to be the owner or can I do it?

Ask one of the DVC members to call MS and have the two reservations linked. If they are for the exact same room type/view, then they can be linked and you will not have to change rooms or even checkout and in again between them. You'll be able to use the same room keys.

The DVC member will need both DVC confirmation numbers to get them linked.

That's a great idea, I didn't know that you could link reservations from different memberships. :thumbsup2
