Split Stay at DVC (DDP in 2nd half of split) question

I'm arriving on July 4th and due to availability, had to book one night (4th) at SSR and the next 7 at POLY DVC. I purchased the dining plan for the POLY 7 days only (not for SSR).

The plan is to head straight to MK on July 5th for morning EMH and have the luggage send over to POLY from SSR by their Bell Hop Services.

Will I be able to use my DDP credits in the MK even though I won't physically check in to POLY until much later that day? Especially since we will be at MK at 8am? How would I solve this issue - Thanks!

To the best of my knowledge, you would have to check out of SSR. Go to front desk and ask the CM to completely check you out of SSR since you will be checking into the POLY and want to use the dining credits associated with that reservation. (Note, after this none of your MBs will work to get into the SSR room).

Then you will have to check in to the POLY. It's very unlikely that your room will be ready when you do so, but your dining credits should be available. Verify that with the Poly CM. I'm not sure if the others in your party need be present to get their MB enable to access your Poly room & credits, but if you will all be together while you are at the MK, it won't matter. You can just use your MB to pay for any meals or snacks you want to pay for with credits.

If it were me, I'd check out at SSR and bring the luggage to Bels Services. I'd send the rest of my party on the bus to the MK and I'd take a cab (or UBER) over to the Poly to check in. Then I'd meet the rest of the group at the MK.

We've always had to check in but I wonder if you could check in online and have SSR make sure your credits are active. Personally I'd just go over to the Poly and check in. It's possible that Guest Services would help, I just don't know though. What we've done is have one person, usually myself, go over to the resort to check in then meet at the park. Once the computers change over for the day, they can check you in so you're credits will be active. That can be as early as 4:30 am.

My Sister had this happen with one of her stays. She had a stay at AKV, with the dining plan attached, but wanted to go to the MK for early rope drop and use her dining plan credits without a visit to AKV. She was told that if she did online check-in and put her arrival time at 7:00 am, then all of her dining credits would be available for use at the MK.

She did just as told, and her dining credits were available to be used at the MK for lunch without physically checking into AKV beforehand.

Not sure online check in will work for the second portion of a splt stay. Did your sister have a split stay with second portion at AKV?

I was going to suggest this, but I'd likely put earlier still and stop by guest services to check or at SSR front desk. Still it's a risk that may not work out..
