I have an upcoming trip planned for 5 nights at Coronado. I'd like the shift my dates 2 nights earlier and change to 4 nights only. Coronado is not available for this. But I can keep 2 nights at Coronado and add 2 at a different resort.

CM is saying that I will need to book 2 packages with separate reservation numbers. But what about my memory maker? It's all one continuous 4 night stay on property. I don't want to have to pay for it twice because I have 2 reservation numbers. How do I make sure I am only charged once for it?

Is there a reason why you're doing a package versus room only + tickets?

Memory Maker is usually good for a period of time (30 days from the date the picture is first taken) + a limited time period to download the photos

Make sure Memory Maker and tickets are on the first package. The second stay can be booked as a room only reservation or "basic package" that does not include the tickets. If you see MM added to both packages in MDE, you can use the change reservation link and remove it from the second one

I used to do room only years ago. I did a package this time for ease of booking. Just having everything in one spot. Plus, with dates in October there was unlikely to be any room only discounts out there. But with this potential split stay, it feels more complicated to me.

I'm considering just moving the trip to dates that we can stay the entire trip at Coronado. Its for my daughters birthday though and she wanted it to be right around her actual birthday.

Ah, I will say packages are good in case you can't go. Then the tickets don't become non-refundable.
