Split stay and Magical Express?

Has anyone had problems booking a spilt stay and using Magical Express? Being dropped off at one DVC and returning to the airport from another? We're considering a split stay trip in January.

We split our stay last February between BWV and WL. I booked the ME reservation on line for BWV through the DVC website, and booked the WL portion on the phone. Everything went very smoothly and I wouldn't hesitate to do it the same way again.

We are staying at SSR for three nights mid Oct and then staying2 more nights at OKW. We were told that it is not a problem at all to take M Express from any DVC Resort no matter if you resort hop or not. You just have to make them aware that you will be needing it and what time and from where. :p

We've done this a couple times and it was fine. I called DVC direct to make the ressies just to make sure they had us coming and going in the right places. And can I just add that we love the magical express. I've heard people had problems with luggage or pick-up, but it's been perfect for us every time.

Last Aug we started our 2 wks at VWL and ended at BCV - ME was no problem
This Aug we're starting w/5nights at VWL, ending w/6nights at BCV. In the middle we're staying 3nights at AKL. There was a confusion w/DHs ME tags (he's joining us at AKL, staying through end of vacation). I called and supposedly they were fixed (new tags coming in the mail).

We have done it a few times with no problems.

We just got back from a split stay SSR/BWV . . . no problem with ME - just called member services with the info. We did get two envelopes from ME about a month before we left, one for the arrival at SSR and another for the departure from BWV.

OK...here's a variation on the question: I am staying two nights at OKW in November (just me!) using my DVC points and then will likely stay somewhere else on property the third night paying cash. Have not yet made that ressie. My flight out of Orlando is not til evening, and I am familiar enough and comfortable enough with Disney transportation that i would be happy to get myself back to OKW to leave on THAT resort's ME bus, even if my last night's stay in a different Disney resort. No big deal either way as I suppose I will have my last night booked in plenty of time to make ME reservation giving resort info at both ends of my trip. Just wondering if it is easier to arrive and leave from same Disney property (or is that a no-no?) to avoid confusion of switching resorts?

We did have a problem with a split stay last November. We started at BCV, and then moved to BWV. We even stopped at the concierge at BWV after checking in and asked them to re-confirm that the ME pickup for us was scheduled correctly.

Not sure if it had to do with our split stay, but ME did not show up at 10:20, and not at 10:50 either. They had to send a special van for us...luckily we made our flight.

This might have been an isolated incident, but in the future I would re-confirm ME has us on the list, and in the right place, the night before we have to leave.

I am staying at POFQ first and then BCV. No CM had any difficulty arranging ME to one and from another..Good luck

Hi ccw,
My only concern would be that they drop off your little DME confirmation at your room - at least the did mine - and that if you were no longer at that resort, it might put a glitch in the system - which if it stops at you not getting your reminder and time for pick up, maybe fine, but if they determine you aren't there and then decide to un-book you from DME because you had checked out, well it might still be fine, I guess.

Actually I have never gotten a DME packet through the mail (reservation made too late) Does that packet contain your DME pick up time from the resort?
