split stay and magic bands question

I was forced to book 2 reservations at POR because of the free dining deal. I arrive on 8/13 but free dining doesn't start till 8/14. So i have a room only deal on 8/13 to 8/14 and a package for 8/14 to 8/21. I looked at my account and it shows 2 sets of magic bands. Do i really need both sets or can i call and get them set up for 1 set? What is the normal way of doing this?

You can decline one set, there's a place to decline magic bands on MDE or receive 2 sets. They work interchangeably with each other. We often do split stay reservations and I order the magic bands in different colors. I decorate them and wear which ever magic band matches what I'm wearing that day.

Ok. So keeping the 2nd set won't hurt then. I might just do that then.

I have heard about people that have had trouble when they declined the 2nd set. Like the door to the room not opening and having to go back to the front desk or wait for someone to help you

So I'd customize them both, maybe let everyone pick two different colors. In theory the first set should still work so you could mix and match.

When I did this I put a #1 on the first set and #2 on the second so we didn't get mixed up.

They are set to all work interchangeably.

Should a glitch happen, get it fixed. But glitches do not always happen, and they should work just fine.
