Split Stay and Luggage ?

My hubby said we can split our stay between Pop and WL, ONLY if Disney will move our luggage for us, will they? We won't have a car to do it ourselves.

They will assist you moving your luggage. I believe you engage bell services at the hotel you're checking out of to take you luggage, they'll ensure it is transported to the hotel you're checking into, where that hotel's bell service can be engaged to get your luggage back. I'm not sure how you engage bell services at POP -- you may need to bring your luggage to a specific location, as I seem to remember that they don't deliver luggage to specific rooms. No such conditions at WL, they'll bring your bags directly to your room.

We've done this several times and for the most part it has worked out wonderfully. Just call the luggage service people at your present resort, tell them you will need your luggage taken to xyz resort the next day. They will tell you what you need to do. But be aware......in most cases your things will get to the next resort between 1 and 3. But my last stay I moved from BCV to POR and BCV Bell Srvs was not good about making the transfer. They finally got me my stuff at 5:30!!! I should have gone back over there and taken my own stuff via a cab to POR. So, I would be sure to put anything you might need later in the afternoon in a backpack. Maybe a bathing suit, change of clothes. We were stuck at POR with nothing at all....got into our room at 2:45 and had nothing to do for 3 hours. I guess we could have bought new bathing suits there!!!

We are spending our first night at the end of July at Pop then moving to WL the next day. After reading the number of recent posts from people complaining of how long it took for the luggage to be transferred, dh and I have decided to take our luggage over to WL via taxi. We'll check-in at WL at that time then venture forth into the parks. The taxi will only cost a few dollars and will be well worth the piece of mind. There's nothing worse than coming back from the parks all hot and sweaty and having no clean clothes available. Yuck!

Just bumping this up to see how the taxi worked for you SqueakyMouse. We'll be moving from BWV to WL in January and I'm trying to decide between allowing them to move our luggage or doing it ourselves via taxi. It will be our first split stay and DH isn't crazy over the idea. I'd like to make it as painless as possible for him.
