split stay and dining plan

If you check out of one room that has a dining plan attached and then check-in to another resort room does that automatically stop your dining plan? We are looking at a two night stay at a value and then a five night stay at a deluxe. I was thinking about getting the dining plan for just the value portion (we are AP holders so tickets not an issue) but could we use our last dining credit after checking into our new hotel...say that evening?

Leftover dining plan credits are good until 11:59 PM on the day you check out of the first resort.
