Split stay advice

We wiil be staying the first night at CS. The next day we will join the rest of our party who will be checking in at the YC. The reservations for the 3 rooms at the YC are all in my BIL name, and he is paying for all three rooms (isn't he wonderful!). My question though is this, we will go to MGM the day everyone else arrives, should I just leave my car at CS and when our party arrives go back to CS and get the car and head over to YC? or drive to MGM and then to YC? or get up early and drive to YC and get our stuff stored there until they check in? Also throw into the equation that I'll have an electric cooler. i could probably pack the perishables in ice and leave in the car if I had to but would probably be better to have it plugged in a either resort...

I would say drive over to the Yacht Club that morning (tell the guard at the guard shack that you are part of your BIL's party), have them store the luggage, then take the boat from the YC over to MGM, and then come back to the YC via the boat to meet up with the rest of your family.

I would drive to YC have my luggage held, then go to MGM. (short boat ride) Come back to the YC after MGM, when the rest of your party arrives with everything already there. The cooler would be better off out of your car and in storage I'm not sure if they will be able to plug it in for you, so I would just use ice to keep everything cold.

I will second (or third) the advice on driving and parking at YC. But I will differ on my opinion on the luggage. Why not just pack it up, leave it in your room for bell services, and have the nice Disney folks take it to you new rooms at YC for you? You're on vacation, so a $5+ tip to the folks at bell services will save you a lot of Lugging. And isn't that why we stay on site at WDW hotels anyway?

Thanks for the advice. I think I will go to YC first thing in the a.m. and get them to hold my luggage until the afternoon. We are planning to carry a small essentials bag for the first night so we don't have to completely unload and reload...
