Hi all

Not long 'til we're off now; we've had our accommodation booked for ages, 3 nights at Club Level Hard Rock Hotel, 3 nights at Concierge Poly and 2 nights at Concierge Beach Club, followed by a week in an off-site villa. Now our hols are getting closer, I'm thinking am I mad to do this many split stays?!?!:confused3

Has anyone any tips to make things go smoothly?

Thanks all

We have done it, even between universal and wdw, just like you. I suppose you are going to have a rental car, right?

The only downfall to switching rooms is that you must check out by 11 am. and then can't usually get in to your new room till after 3 pm. THey will hold your luggage for you (and in between wdw hotels they will actually transfer it for you:thumbsup2 ). Depending on how full your days are, this will be a pain for you if you have to take time to move (packing, etc).

It is really nice to sample different resorts, though and you have picked three awesome places in different areas. I love the HRH and Poly and the entire Epcot hotel area. Have FUN!

In December, we did something similar to you: 3 nights at Polynesian, 2 nights at HRH, and 5 nights at Yacht Club. I really liked all 3 resorts and didn't mind switching. But my husband has made me promise never to do that again. My sons feel the same way. They did not enjoy having to leave one resort just as they were starting to relax. Switching 3 times was just too much. Looking back, we all agree that we should have done 4 nights at HRH and 6 nights at YC. We had a wonderful time at HRH (teenage boys liked HRH and Universal as well as or better than Disney) but it wasn't long enough.

During my last visit for 2 weeks in 2005,I stayed at RPR(Universal) FQ,WL,BWI,AKL, and the Poly.It was my first trip that I stayed onsite at WDW.I was able to decide which resorts I really liked and which resorts I would probably never stay at again. My next trip I am staying at 4 resorts. It is not that hard for me to resort hop because I travel alone but I think 4 would be my limit in 2 weeks.WDW will move your luggage from one resort to another but you will not be able to access your belongings until later in the day so you need to make sure you have everything you need for the parks and make sure you have any medications you may need.I know some people who resort hop put the clothing for one resort stay all in one bag and don't unpack the other bag until the next resort. I personally tend to do alot of laundry on vacation so before I leave one resort I try and have as much clean laundry to start the stay at my next resort. The end of your stay will be a week in a villa that will give you time to relax and not worry about packing and unpacking bags.It will be like a 2nd vacation. As far as transportation I didn't rent a car but I did pay for a towncar for roundtrip to and from the airport and a one way trip to take me from WDW to RPR resort. I thought this worked out really well and plan on doing it my next trip.
Have fun!!!!!!:)

We're leaving next week for our most complicated "split" ever - one night MK View at the Contemporary, 3 nights Beach Club, 3 nights Boardwalk Inn, and 3 nights at a non-Disney resort. The most resorts we've done in one trip before was three.

Here are my tips: don't unpack everything - think of your suitcase as your dresser drawer. Then you won't have to repack every time you move. The day before you check out of a room, call housekeeping and ask for late checkout. They usually say "You can have the room until 1:00pm". That takes some of the pressure off and lets you enjoy the resort for a few hours more. When you check in to the next resort, ask if there's a room that's ready early. I've had rooms made available to me as early as 9:00am. At Disney, especially at the Deluxe resorts, the check in/check out times are not as hard and fast as they are at non-Disney resorts.

Since I live in south Florida and can drive to wdw after work we always stay at a value the night we drive up. Then, if we are living it up we check in to our deluxe hotel the next day. Saves hundreds when all we want on night #1 is a warm bed and bathroom.

Let us know what you decide.

Thanks everyone for the replies, much appreciated.

Gardenia, like the idea about not unpacking and requesting late check-out.

I feel a bit more relaxed now, knowing that lots of other people have done so many split stays! I think also, because this will be our 5th visit in so many years and therefore we have "done" so much already of all the parks, I wanted to concentrate on appreciating the other side of Disney, ie. enjoying the resorts. So, I'm not worrying so much about rushing to get to the parks. Does that make sense?!

Skiing Wife, that is a worry that the boys will just start enjoying one resort, then have to leave. But saying that, all they're interested in are the pools and arcade rooms!!
