I wanted to stay in BLT Studio for 2 nights but there was no availability for the 1st night.

Last week I made two reservations: One for the 1st night at AKV, Another for the 2nd night at BLT, and I added a waiting list at BLT with the option to cancel the first night at AKV.

Today, I logged in to check on something else and noticed I know had a single reservation for two nights at BLT.

1.) I never received any notification that my waitlist went through.
2.) I am (pleasantly) surprised that when my waitlist went through, it merged the two separate reservations into one.

Are these two observations normal?

Yes. Both are often true.

Yes. I'm more surprised when I get an email. Usually I just find out when I log on and see it's been filled.
Merging is hit or miss for me too but it happens more often than not.

One of my recent waitlists came through for a Moonlight Magic night in August. I noticed my old room was available on the RAT. When I logged into my account, I no longer had a waitlist in my dashboard and the reservation was all merged into one.

Yes, I have also had this happen. It is not uncommon. It's why I keep checking on my waitlist - I have a similar situation right now so I keep checking every few days.

We had 2 waitlists for our fall trip. No email when the first waitlist came through and we received an email for the second one. Disney IT at its finest 50%.

Whenever I call in it seems like new email confirmations require an action by the CM. So I'm guessing this is completely dependent on if the CM who finalizes the waitlist chooses to send the email or not.
