Split Reservation at CRT - any chance we'll sit together?

We are a party of 6 (my DH, and 2 kids, plus my in-laws). Even at over 181 days out, the only way I could get a CRT lunch reservation for the day I wanted (our first park day) was to book it for a party of 4 on my account and a party of 2 on my MIL's account. Does anyone have experience with booking this way?

The timing of our reservation is PERFECT for us. It's right after my daughter will finish at the BBB (with some wiggle room in case her appointment starts late), so it doesn't get much better than getting glammed up at the BBB and then hoping right over to CRT.

Anyway... My DH kind of wants me to work on getting it changed to a party of 6, but I'm pretty happy to leave it alone and see what happens. Especially since it's a smaller restaurant. Is there any chance we'll be seated together &/or right next to each other with our separate reservations?

They only have so many tables that can seat 6. And they do have tables that seat only 2 they might have you slotted for.

They might be able to seat you together, but they might not. I would keep watching. Things pop up all the time.

If you want to be seated together, I agree with your husband that you need to keep looking for one reservation for 6. With 6 months to go before your reservation, you have plenty of time to keep checking for another reservation.

Right now you will be scheduled to be seated at two separate tables - a 4 top and a 2 top. You could be seated on opposite sides of the room or you might be lucky that two tables near each other open up at the same time. There's always a chance you'll be seated together, but no guarantee and as you said, it's a smaller restaurant, so fewer tables for the castmembers to work with.

We were forced to have two separate reservations, due to the size of our party (9). I won't sit on opposite sides of the restaurant from my parents and in-laws (the entire reason they are coming is to have dinner in the castle with our kids) and will sit there and wait until they have two tables together. Not my fault they can't accommodate larger groups!

They don't have to let you "sit and wait" until they can accommodate you, thereby probably delaying other parties. They can say "prepaid, too bad, too sad."

I had a table of 4 and a table of 2 booked for the past several months, and just last weekend (about 40 days before our trip), a table of 6 popped up. Keep checking.

You chose to take two separate ADR's so please be sure to remember that in the event this restaurant cannot accomodate what you really want. And I should warn you now.....you have a party of nine and in ANY Disney restaurant you may be separated into two different tables. You agreed to those terms when you accepted teh ADR, just as you agreed to two different tables when you made tow separate ADR's for your group.

I didn't CHOOSE to take two separate ADRs. Their restaurant cannot accommodate parties larger than 8. That is neither my fault nor my concern. It isn't like I booked for 2 and 4 hoping to get 6 together when they have tables that are for 6. They don't have tables for our party size and we will wait until we can be seated near one another.

This isn't my first rodeo. We go to WDW every two months. I'm not in the least worried - we will be seated together.

And I didn't agree to the terms of being separated for any other meals. An ADR for 9 is an ADR for 9.

But since we will be showing up for our reservations with a private VIP guide, I'm confident we will be accommodated. CRT is basically a walkup with a VIP guide.

Hi everyone! I've been reading these boards to get ready for my upcoming trip and I just have to say that I am so happy to read this! There are 2 of us for our upcoming trip and we have a private VIP guide reserved daily for the 5 days we will be visiting, but I couldn't get ADR's for dinner at BOG or CRT. but I guess we don't need then since the Private VIP guide trumps all.:flower1:

Not sure if this meant to be snarky or not, since it's your first post. But...

The office will tell you they don't handle dining reservations. But we use the same guide each trip, and she has always told us pretty much anything is a walk-up if you tell them when you start your day. They can call ahead and get you a table - usually. You can also get your kids into Jedi Training, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, etc. They also make sure you get the best tables at restaurants, and you get as much time as you want with the characters. When we've met Anna and Elsa we were told to take our time, because the room was ours.

Our guide is like houdini. She's been able to get us so many things and refunds for stuff we shouldn't have gotten refunds for....it's worth the cost.

Thanks for all of the great information. We're really excited for our trip especially all of the FOL access. I think we're more interested in the attractions and restaurants. The characters, not so much. I'm really looking forward to our days at MK and AK most of all.
