split points/cash on dvc dcl

Is is true that in order to book dvc dcl with cash, at least one of the parties within the reservation must be booked with points and then the subsequent members be booked with cash?

It seems on some dates next summer, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th member for cat 4 may be less expensive than booking thru DCL directly. Thanks

Yes. The first passenger must be paid for with points. The rest can be paid for with cash or points, as you choose. Just keep in mind that each person must be paid for with all-points or all-cash.

On DCL, the first two passengers pay the same amount. After that the fares vary, depending on the age of the passenger.

Also keep in mind that renting two, connecting cabins in a lower category is almost always cheaper than paying for 5 in a Category 4...plus you get 2 bathrooms, 2 TVs, etc.
