So on the Blue Bayou menu it says there's a split-plate charge - I'm ok w/ this but is it on everything? For lunches we were considering just buying 2 meals, 1 for DH & I to share & 1 for the kids, & then a dessert for all 4 of us to share. So would that be 3 split-plate charges??? That would be $15!!!

And on the Storyteller dinner menu it gives a full service menu & a buffet menu. Can we get the kids buffet & the grownups something off the dinner menu? Wasn't sure how it was set up.

Not sure on your BB question, but some members of your party can do buffet while others order off of the menu at Storytellers.

We've eaten here a few times and have shared a few meals. With your scenario, it'll probably be 2 split plate charges for the meals. We've ordered dessert in the past and have never had a split plate charge on it. They usually always bring us 4 spoons for dessert.

Yes. We've also done this in the past and have had no issues. Just let your waiter know.

We had dinner at the Storytellers Cafe - yum. Hubby got the buffet and the rest of us ordered off the menu. I shared a meal with my daughter and there was no split plate charge.

The service there was excellent & we left a very big tip :)

Never seen the split plate charge for dessert, but for the entree's a big YES.

I have no idea if this will impact having dinner there, but when we had breakfast there in December, it turned out that our PS was made for the time just after they stopped serving from the menu. So I don't know if there's an early dinner time where they only have one, or a very late dinner PS time where they only serve from buffet or menu, but it's worth knowing that it is possible.

And they told me that Disney Dining might or might not know, but they NEVER tell their last breakfast PS people...

Anyway, just wanted to put that out there, just in case it might happen at dinner, too!

When we went to the BB in early December, I wanted to split the salmon with my son. The server said if we just got one salad (for me) and just one plate (I had to do the splitting myself at the table and put it on an extra plate for my son) that they would not apply the split plate charge. That same week, a friend of mine went and tried to do the same scenario and they still charged her the fee....

So, I am guessing that it depends on your server???? I don't know. :confused3 Maybe because we had a big group eating dinner (6 adults, 1 kid) the server waived the rule, as opposed to my friend and her child?

I didn't think the dessert was plausible but I was considering every plate we might share....... thanks!!

There is a chance that they will only charge one fee (instead of two) for one of you to split with the 9 yo. The 3 yo might be young enough that they won't worry about it- or order the little one a cup of soup or something.

No, they will not charge you for splitting a dessert, we shared 1 four ways and we were not charged extra. For the food, I would imagine that your 3 y.o would be free but I'm not 100% sure of that, hopefully they will only charge you 1 split plate fee but they may charge you 2.
