Split parties sitting close?

Cape May didn't have anything for our party of 11 for breakfast, but I was able to get 3 separate reservations, one party of 3 and two parties of 4. Then it dawned on me, unless we are close together, I will not be able to get pics of the kiddos with characters. Do they honor requests to be close? We would be willing to wait longer to do so. If it's not likely, will probably cancel.

JMO, I think what you are hoping for is a tall order. I wouldn't count on them being able to shift things around to find you 3 four top tables all next/very close to each other.

We had a party of 11 with a reservation and we didn't sit all at the same table. We were right across the aisle from each other but still not all at the same table. Might be hard for them to do.

Unless you have one of the first reservations of the day I would say it is unlikely you will get this request- it is all about the timing of lots of different dinners and of course large groups with 1 reservation will have preference over you.

I wouldn't count on it. No way to note that this is a group in system, and a likely full restaurant. Letting you wait while there are open tables will just put them behind all morning.

They'll try if they can, but it's unlikely there is much they can do.

Don't cancel! Try to make a reservation for 12 - I've noticed that "even" numbers are easier to get, even when they're more people. If you get one, the others can then be canceled. Or they may get automatically canceled when the new one is made.

But even if you don't get one, you'll probably still be ok. Disney has ALWAYS accommodated our large parties when I've had to make multiple reservations.

1) The SEATER (the persona at the podium) can send a text to the ASSIGNER to try to seat people nearby
1) The ASSIGNER (the person with the walk-around computer) can try to keep you together, but no guarantees.
2) Think of this like a giant Rubik's Cube
. . . the ASSIGNER has to find several tables ready to leave at the same time
. . . waiting for nearby tables can keep tables empty and create gaps in filled tables
. . . any gaps in seating guests causes a loss of tips for the SERVER
. . . any gaps in seating guests causes a drop in revenue-per-table for the eatery

I have a similar situation for a party of 16
11:15 for 4
11:15 for 4
11:20 for 4
11:20 for 4
I wonder if it might be easier to accommodate since it's so close to end of breakfast service?

I would not cancel unless you are willing to give up seating together altogether. You will run the risk of sitting apart no matter where you make your ADR because so much depends on the guests before you.

WE were a party of 9 and with the exception of one restaurant we got seated together even when I made two ADR's to accomodate our number. Know in advance that the restaurant CM's do their best to help guests stay together, and in the event they cannot manage it, the meal will still be awesome. You may need to enlist someone to help with pics, but that could happen anyway.

We had good luck in November with a party of 11 (during FD time when it was impossible to get reservations). We didn't even have a reservation for everyone, we had 1 for 8 and 1 for 2 at one place, just 1 for 8 at another, and they still got us all together. I don't think we waited more than 15 minutes either. There aren't any guarantees, but they will try!
