I always seem to have these hotel dilemnas!

Now, I am reserved at HOJO with Kid Suite. One night at $99 which is phenomenal, but 3 nights at $165, which is more than I like to pay for off-site.

Just got PPH rates at $189, so I start thinkin.... and now I am booked two nights at $260 for concierge, which seems like a nice splurge for us, as we have not done this before, and there will be 5 of us and we plan long swim/nap breaks as we are all heat intolerant.

Our move day is a Tuesday though, and that sucks because we are morning magic people for sure.

So now I think we should move on Monday but don't want to spend the money on another concierge night. Can I book one night seperate reservation and just change rooms? Or should I suck it up and just pay the money for one more night? Up from $165 at HOJO.

Or do we just move on Tuesday, after MM is over? We could still jump in the car, drive to PPH, check in, swing by the concierge lounge for breakfast, and then head to the parks in time for morning magic, assuming the concierge lounge is open early enough, and then walk back to PPH, get car, drive back to HOJO in time for check out, load car and back to PPH for swim and afternoon break before checking into our room.

What do you think? Am I nuts for worrying about a $100 in context of the overall cost??

Depends how much your time is worth. Check-out time 11:00,check in time 3-4:00. Packing and unpacking 'again'. :confused3

If you pay for concierge you get breakfast and snacks too. You don't get that at HoJo.

We've done split stays several times ~ in fact we're doing it this weekend *nights 1 & 2 are at the DLH and our last 2 nights are somewhere much cheaper ~ I have a couple options* You could get the MM on your check in day ~ you'd just have to check in super early and leave your stuff at the *leave your stuff here* place.

What about getting up super early on the Tuesday move day, leaving your stuff at HOJOs and walking over to the Paradise Pier and checking in before MM? Then head on over to Disneyland and enjoy your MM. Take a break around 11:15 or 11:30 to get back to HOJOs for noon checkout, drive over to PPH and either get in your room if it's ready or check everything with the bell desk, and go have a nice lunch and swim.

Ooooo, we did this last November! We moved from FFI to GCH. It was super easy! We had a taxi pick us up and take us over (pretty cheap, like $8-10 incl tip). We were staying GCH concierge, and they will let you go right up to the lounge and eat breakfast! I *think* they open at 6 AM, but not sure about PPH. Anyway, it was fabulous to go from FFI to concierge and enjoy the goodies early, even though they told us our room wouldn't be ready until afternoon (but they actually got us into our room right away). Then we scooted over to the parks and got in early!

I would get up early-early, get everyone and everything in the car, go to PPH. Leave stuff either in the car or with Bell Services (one adult taking care of this part) and check in (another adult doing this). Someone parks the car. Get your KTTM (keys to the magic), run up to concierge and grab coffee etc, then head on over to MM!

It's exactly what we did in Dec '08, except we stayed at the Hilton first, and it worked out beautifully.

I agree! We have done this also a few times. We have checked out of HOJO's at 7am, checked in at PPH, and been to DL by 8am. :thumbsup2

We've done this too. :) Checked out of the Hojo around 6am (uuggg), walked to the Grand Californian, checked in, stowed bags and made it to Magic Morning by 6:45. It's definitely doable but I agree with those folks that suggest taking a cab to PPH. I guess it depends on how motivated you and your kids are to get up early. Traveling as two adults, we can get up and out of the room pretty fast. By afternoon we were ready for a long nap.

We will have a car, so that does make it easier.

I like the idea of getting up early on Tuesday, out the door at HOJO at 6, to PPH, check in, breakfast and to the parks by 7 for MM. Probably poolside no later than 11:30:)

Thank you all for your input!
