On our upcoming trip we just found out my husband can join us :cool1: (he started a new job and we didn't know if they would give him the time off until yesterday). Anyway we had to alter our plans a little bit to minimize how many days off he will need, which led us to splurging and booking Saturday night at Paradise Pier (to gain EE in DCA at 7am for Sunday). We will need to move to our other hotel (BW Park Place) at some point during the day on Sunday.

What's the best way to go about this? Should we leave our bags with the bell hop at DCA and check out when we leave the room at 6am? Or is it better to just go stash the bags in our car, which we will then return to sometime in the early afternoon to go check in to our Good Neighbor hotel (which we can't leave our car at until 1pm at the earliest). Not sure what the safest/smartest/most convenient option is for dealing with our overnight bag.

I would leave the bags with the bell hop desk & check-out before leaving for EMH. You can leave them there as late in the day as you wish. I prefer that to stashing them in the car because cars get hot & I prefer my cosmetics & the family bag of snacks non-melted. If concerned about the safety of leaving things with the bell hops buy a travel lock for your bag. I got a nice one on Amazon for like $7. (You could try calling the next hotel before you leave the park to make sure your room is ready so you don't lose that afternoon waiting around for your 2nd hotel room to open up.)

I would leave your bags with bell services and then go get them when you are ready to move over and and put them in your car and leave. You do know that you get EE on the date of your arrival and the date of your departure right?

Yup, that's why we booked it (mentioned that in my OP). We aren't arriving until the afternoon so the day of EE won't affect us, but the next morning we plan to get up early to take advantage!

Definitely leave them with bell services; it's just safer. You can park at PPH until midnight of checkout day.
