Hi all,

We've already got VWL booked from 12/22 - 12/28 but I've been looking to potentially shift over to AKL for a bit if possible. Found an opening on the front end of our stay but its only for 2 days. Two adults, no kids, and we will have a car so I'm thinking the logistics should be a non-issue especially if we opt for Animal Kingdom as our park on the check out day. Just not sure if it's worth it or not to do 2 days in one and 4 in the other.

What has been your experience in a similar situation? FYI, we would more than likely end up going out to AKL at some point for dinner and to see the Christmas decorations so part of my thinking is this would just make that whole process even easier during a time when the parks are kind of a pain anyway.

We have a split stay coming up in August 3 nights each at AKV & BRV. We enjoy both resorts. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at AKL for the two days.

Just two of you and you have a car--do it. Split stays can be fun, and since you won't have to worry over the logistics of ferrying children and their stuff in addition to a change in their routine, I say do it. Both are lovely resorts. Certainly, VWL has the best ambiance during the holidays, and AKL isn't far behind.

WDW will move your items for you.
Move steps:
Call Bell Services and have them come pick-up your luggage and refrigerated items. Be sure to inform them that you have items to keep cold.
Tell them where you are transferring too.
Check-in to your new resort.
Go do whatever you want that day.
After getting your room text and you are back in it (items are not at your new resort until 2 - 4 PM), call Bell Services to have the items delivered to your room.
NOTE: You must be in the room for the pick-up and delivery. Tips expected.
If you want to go straight to the parks and not go to the resort first to check-in and not get the text, yes you can do that.

I say go for it! We always enjoy split stays and with your circumstances, it's the perfect opportunity. It's fun to see the different resorts all decked out for Christmas and AKL is no exception.

We will be down there in December too. I can't wait to see it all decorated!!!

Perfect, thanks for the encouragement. We actually stayed at AKL a number of years ago and absolutely loved the place. With that said, we were in a standard room overlooking the pool so I think having a savannah room plus the Christmas decorations would be awesome.

One question though based on this flow provided above:

Tips are no problem. Just want to clarify the bold. So we can go ahead and hand our bags off and go straight to the parks then check-in at the other hotel? No need to check in first? Thanks!
