OK, who likes or doesn't like the split bathrooms on DCL?

For me, I voted "other" but am leaning towards "hate". For some reason or other I always find myself needing something that is in the other bathroom. Doesn't matter which one I'm in or what I'm doing, I always have to use something that got put in the other bathroom.

I don't have this "problem" when sailing on other cruise lines.

Yes, I'm a grumpy old man. Deal with it. :mic:

I voted other. Split bathrooms have their pros and cons. They are nice if you have a lot of people in one cabin, but boy are they tiny. I thought I'd miss them the first time we sailed on NCL, but as we were in a suite with a huge bathroom, we didn't miss it at all. There were only three of us in the cabin, though, which does make a difference.

Good point about the size! Yes, the split baths are tiny. My wife and I aren't huge people. In fact we are probably on the smaller size of the general cruise population. But it's difficult to even turn around in the split bath. Perhaps we have also been spoiled by sailing in suites on Royal/Celebrity.

I voted "Love" but I wouldn't choose a cruise line based on the bathroom.
Not sure how to judge them, because Disney keeps putting them in their new ships so their customers overall must like them, but I am not aware of any other cruise line that uses them, so not popular enough to copy.

Of course there have been several threads over the years about people not using the stateroom bathrooms to shower or do anything but tinkle and brush their teeth. They go to the public showers by the pools and the spa and public bathrooms to do their aromatic business.

I don’t care either way so voted other. I wish they would sell some regular rooms with just a shower, no tub though.

When sailing with a party of 4, the split bath was very helpful. I vote for love!

With that said, just DH and I sailed on NCL this summer and did just fine with 1 bathroom.

I will tell you after our next cruise in 2 weeks. First time without the split bathroom. I like it because husband can shave and brush teeth while I’m in the shower.

I voted other. I don’t love or hate them. I’ve had both.

I don't like them personally. We don't have kids so I either cruise with my wife or sometimes solo, so I'd much rather have one larger bathroom than two tiny ones. Having said that, I can see why they can be quite valuable to anyone with 3+ people in the room and so I can see why they are a huge selling point for Disney so I don't blame them for going that direction.

I value the split bathrooms. It allows two people to get ready at the same time, two people to brush their teeth at the same time, etc. It also allows me to use the shower in a room that is separate from the commode, and I appreciate that for multiple reasons, one of them being that you don't have to wait for someone to finish showering before you go to the bathroom.

The split bathrooms may be “smaller”, but the one time we sailed Celebrity (in a pricey veranda stateroom), neither my wife nor I could sit comfortably on the commode without having one foot in the shower. Never had an issue like that on DCL.

Put me in the love category. I like the tub, though, if I remember correctly, the Wish had a shower not tub? and with a glass door - I hate those. I much prefer the DCL ones over Royal Celebrity with their tiny showers.

I vote love but it's just me in there so space or configuration isn't an issue.
Not remembering to step down from the bathroom may change my vote....

The Split bathroom is at the top of my list for why people should cruise Disney. So nice when you are trying to get ready for dinner or in the morning.

I voted LOVE because when our kids were young, it was a lifesaver for getting 4 people ready relatively fast. Now that it's just me and dh, we like it but it's not the huge 'must have' that it used to be. We don't keep anything in the toilet side except items related to using a toilet such as wipes.
Toothbrushes, mouthwash, razors, etc all go in the shower side.
