Splash Mt.

I'll never forget my second trip down splash . . . we were talking in line with a lovely older couple in front of us and we were talking about how hot it was. Both of them were very much in the Pooh-sized category and they both laughed and said if you want to cool off, let us sit in front! Needless to say, we got refreshingly DRENCHED! :lmao:

WOW..... there are alot of you out there!! Anyone buy new outfits like me??? that was the only perk!!! :) it used to be one of my favorite rides... now i'm not too sure... i HATE walking around with wet clothes... gonna have to think long and hard about going on it again.... maybe and umbrella?? poncho??

Not off of Splash, but I did buy myself some new sandals in Africa after riding Kali first thing in the morning once and my sneakers getting soaked. Now I save the water rides for just before we head back to the hotel.

There are multiple signs throughout the queue for Splash that say "You WILL get wet!"... so how is getting soaked a surprise to anyone?? :confused3

FTR, I always end up soaked... and I love it! :teeth:

I have ridden Splash many times without getting wet, but at spring break this year, my DS and I were on it, sitting in the middle, and our entire boat was soaked from head to toe. The other people in the boat with us were all asking the same question, because none of them had ever been this wet. I remember my clothes and hair were still damp several hours later.

Just got back and I got wetter on Splash than ever before. They had the cannons going off every single time a log went down the big drop which made the logs going through the beginning outside section of the ride get a little wet. Like someone else said, the smaller waterfall after the big drop which you sometimes get stuck next to was running much slower than in the past and didn't get anyone wet. BUT...in the room where the water jets jump from bucket to bucket, there was one jet that always stopped short of its intended bucket, but the stream of water always used to stop before you got to it. However, just this past week, that stream of water did not stop and got me pretty wet. I don't know whether this was just a malfunction or not, but I wasn't complaining one bit. It provided some much needed relief on a hot day.

This past Feb my BF and I rode splash at night during wishes and the park was EMPTY...so we thought. We ran up to our log and sat in the front, not too worried about getting saoked cause we're both pretty fit and don't weigh down the log that much (at least has been our expirience). So we climb in the front and two more than pooh sized guys plop themselves directly behind us. The poor log was so front heavy that I think the back end was stickin up as we floated along. Needless to say, every drop, corner, dip or move was like a tidal wave. I've never seen anyone as wet as we were, not even coming off of Kali River Rapids.

Funny you say that!!! i was in a light log... there were 4 of us in it, and i was the very last person!!! BUT it wasn't the drop that got us.... it way before the drop that we got wet! it was the part when you go into what looks to be a brown barn.... and there was a shot of water and it landed right into the boat on all of us... we weren't sure if there was a timing issue and it was off... or if it was something new they added to the ride.

Exactly what just happened to us! There were 4 of us towards the back with a light load. We all got off the ride and said that we couldn't remember ever getting that wet -- not soaked like Kali River Rapids, but real wet.

We have been on Splash coutless times.
We rode it on June 24, and got SOAKED. And not from the drop. They really had the water turned up. And we were dumped with water in the room with the fountains.
I don't mind water rides. And it hot that day. The water felt good to me. I love water rides anyway. DH is fussy. :confused3
He did have to get a new sleeve to hold his pass. That ride dissolved his.
Maybe that is why he does not like water rides -- because of his wallet. :confused3

Oh yeah -- we got soaked by the big water flume outside too. Where other riders go down the drop and their water shoots over to us.
We were WET that day. But I thought it was great.

Sometimes we have got slightly wet and sometimes have not got wet at all. We have never got soaked though on Splash. We sometimes wear ponchos on Splash and ALWAYS on Kali River Rapids - now that is what you call soaked, you look like a drowned rat when you get off there especially if your the unlucky one who gets to go down the biggest drop backwards.

I was last on it during MNSSHP in October '04. My ex and I were in the very back and we got completely drenched when we went down the hill. We had to wring out our shirts and - I kid you not - empty out our shoes. Forget hair and makeup. There was no fixing that!
