Last time we went in 2002, my DD wasn't tall enough for SM. The CM doing the measuring gave her a certificate that says
"This is to certify that 'Name' is a valued member of the Fraternity of Future Splash Mountaineers and will be able to experience the spine-tingling thrills and spills of a more than 50-foot drop down Splash Mountain as soon as he/she is as tall as the posted signs."
My sister tells me that she and her party will be able to cut the line (or use FP line?) if she shows this certificate. Is this true? Has anyone ever done this? If so, do they keep the cert. I would still like to keep it for a souvenir.

but then my kids were big enough by time RnR was built. I just assumed since Splash Mountain is very "cartoon-like" and appealing to young children that they were trying to smooth over the many tears that come when kids can't get on it.
Uh oh - more thunder - will this rain ever stop ????? The south is being taken over by mushrooms and mold
