Im guessing you saw the picture of them testing the ride. yeah, it looks like its double side by side seated but its just the test dummies leaning on either side to balance the ride since the dummies dont have legs. they can move side to side if they dont put it on its side.
The heavier the log the wetter you get!!! With 6 adults on board you will get soaked in the first three or four seats and very wet in the rest, I think you can squeeze 7 in as the back seat looks like a double. Problem is it is very hard to get clear photos of everyone as there are always heads in the way.
We were lucky enough to go round three times without stopping on 4th July when the fireworks were going as the ride was totally empty managed to get our choice of photos with just us four in the log. Still saw the fireworks as we went round the top each time.
I'm glad to hear that they haven't changed it to double riders. We were there in April and were VERY disappointed that it was being refurbished. Guess we have something to look forward to for next time. We have been to WDW also and still like DL Splash Mountain better.
We love Splash at DL but thought MK's was quite a bit better because the story is much more thorough. We rode MK's version maybe four times. We got more wet at MK than we usually do at DL.

Yep im gonna agree with you on this one. The heavier the people in the boat the wetter you get. Also Yep its true the first 3 seats are the worst for getting wet, although its so refreshing on a hot day... Note also though that they can turn up and down the splash factor I was told this by several CM's and its for any water ride.

Yes! DH and I rode this ride with a family, the CM's put the kids in front, the mom and dad in the middle and DH and I in the back. The kids got SOAKED! We even hit "bottom" a couple of times. They probably should have put the kids in the middle to even out the weight. We still had a fun ride though!
Yah! The last time we went in December there was just the 4 of us on it. We still got soaked. My DD 13, and her friend were just drenched. They were in the front. We laughed so hard ...but then it was kind of cold for them. Don't believe it when they tell you they let some of the water out in winter.
I have a question for anyone with knowledge about the ride. It seems like Splash's drop is higher at DL than the one at the MK. Is this true, or does it just seem like it, cuz it is only single rider??? Thanks!!!!
