I wish Lorealle from Hojo would post the picture from Facebook of herself on Splash. She had a poncho, shower cap, and swim goggles! She was quite determined not to get the slightest bit wet.
Sitting in the far back with my son, I've been fine in the poncho area, but the water that hit the middle of the boat sloshed BACK and got my legs and hips. I felt like a prize dingbat with my dry shirt and my soaking wet lower body.
Very true, if the front is heavy the log plunges in quite a bit.
If you are on the back seat watch out too. If the log is tail heavy, when you go up a lift, the tail sets extra low and water comes up through the floor, it will soak your shoes.
I went one time in the front with my brother in law and his wife also near the front. Basically we had about 500 lbs in the front half of the log. When we hit the bottom instead of skipping along the top, we plunged under the water! I was soaked for the rest of the day.
Hi SplashMo! I know previous posters have already addressed your specific question, but I just wanted to add how much I love the DL version of Splash! Our youngest is too little to ride, so we use rider swap and I go with our two pre-teen boys. On the WDW version, all three of us sit side-by-side in the log (I'm always in the middle.) On the DL version, I have a seat to myself and they are in front of me. I prefer the DL seating arrangement, and enjoy the drops more in the skinny DL logs. When our youngest is old enough to ride, I'll request the back seat so that I can sit next to him. I also love the great views of the park on the DL version!
