Splash mountain fear

The worst part for me now is getting stuck at the bottom at the point where the water gushes and you get soaked!

We used two ponchos...one on the already wet seat and one to cover the front of us...we did not wear them...too hot...worked perfectly...we stayed dry!

I love Splash...the drop goes so fast...that you'll be at the bottom before you have time to be afraid

It too until our 3rd trip for me to ride Splash it is now one of my favorites. Looking at that drop from outside is intimidating. It truly is not bad at all and very fast. count to 3 and you are down at the bottom already. and the whole theme inside is worth the ride itself. it was awesome.

I did it once because my family wanted me to see the inside of the ride (which I couldn't enjoy because of my fear), wanted to chicken out and should have. I hate that drop!!!!! Never again!!!

...oops, sorry. I just reread the first post and see that the OP wanted encouragement. I would say that, if you can do Screamin' for whatever reason (even if you hated it), maybe you can do Splash just for your friend. But I totally understand about the dislike of drops!

If OP did California Screamin' then they should be able to do Splash easily. They're not even in the same category.

I hate big drops, too. Splash is very "survivable" - the trick is to lean ALLLL the way back in your seat during the drop, stretching your torso out as much as you can, and if you can, almost "stand up" a little in your seat (you can't really stand up because of the lap bar, but sort of make as if you're standing up, if you know what I mean). That + closed eyes makes the "stomach drop" feeling almost disappear, and you can get through the drop easily. (I do the "stand up a little" trick for any ride with a big drop and it helps immensely!)

Sit in the back...much less intense...will try it again sitting in the back before it closes for refurbishment!

umm.....the humidity! It's just so darn humid in Orlando!
