Splash Mountain closed Jan 2-March 19

This is horrible DS8 love love loves this ride. We will be at WDW from March 7th to the 14th. (During the Ontario March Break) Could Splash Mountain possibly re-open prior to the date posted? Historically do they accomplish refurbishments faster and offer a soft launch?
Just last nigh DS said he is going to ride SM at least five times a day.
What do you think?

We'll be there from Mar 4 - 12th. I guess my kids will just have to get their fill during our trip that begins in two weeks.

Maybe you could ask a CM when you are riding SM on this trip? Maybe find out if the intend to keep it closed until the 20th. I would love to hear there prediction.

I'd prepare son for the worst and hope for the best. I wouldn't give a little person the "Maybe it'll be ready." They just don't understand. That's quite the refurb.

My guess would be that it will likely be closed for the whole time as this year they skipped it's yearly closure because Big Thunder was down for a lengthy refurb when they would normally have Splash Mt. down. So a lot of things they usually do got pushed off to this year.

I agree, I would prepare him for SP to be closed. Almost every Jan I've been to WDW it's been closed for maint. No big deal to me, as I'll only ride it when it's hot out, like my Aug trips!
But he'll have some of the new Fantasy Land open to explore! So that may make up for it. If he likes splashy things, there is a new splash area near Dumbo. Bring a change of clothes, and water shoes! He will get soaked.
