For anyone looking for cheap airfare from Detroit to Orlando for August and September I just got tickets from Spirit Air for $35 each way  - $445 total for the 4 of us. Our dates are Aug 24 - Sept 2. There are 2 promotional codes right now 48HOURS and 24HOURS. Try them both out.

Thank you I just got 3 tickets Detroit to Orlando for Aug $300 plus fees for bags and seats for a grand total of $392, and they are direct flights.:rotfl2:

Excellent deal. Especially if you don't plan on having any checked baggage or need to change you travel dates.
Congratulations:thumbsup2

OK, how good is this airline? I priced out for 3 of us and it is just shy of $350.
But it's a longer drive to Detroit than Buffalo for us, so is it worth it. What is their policy on baggage? I'm going to go read up, but thought I'll ask here as well.

You have to pay for seats assignment and bags are $10 a bag each way. I have never flown them, but I hear that they are a low cost airline with no frills. I was not going to go this summer but that fare I could not resist. We are actually not going to go to the theme parks just do water parks, mini golf and the resort pool.

We flew with them May 2007 and had no problems. They are definitely a lower class airline but we had no problems with them for this short flight. They do now charge for bags - make sure you do this online or they charge you double at the airport. You also have to pay to assign your own seats. These are both new since I last flew.

Is it worth it. Depending on the savings I would say yes. I find the detroit airport easy to get to and use compared to Toronto I but have never been to Buffalo's airport for comparison with it. Crossing boarder at Detroit is a mess - take 402 to Sarnia and cross there, seems out of the way but is close in travel time. Note: I hear there is construction on the highway going through Detroit so you might want to investigate this further before choosing this route.

Wow! I was able to book tickets for 4 of us (DTW-MCO) for $427. I had already ordered our MNSSHP tickets and was watching/hoping for airfare deals. We will also be traveling during "Free Dining". I guess you really can to Disney on a dime (well... sort of).:thumbsup2

I am looking at booking this too, but I think that I will only booking one way. I do not want to cut a day out of our trip, and the fares for our return trip our bad :( Actually there is only ONE flight at $35 and it is an overnight flight :faint: That is not happening! We are going Sept 19th to 27th, When is everyone else going?
