Spirit will have "pre-reclined seats"

28" pitch? I thought US was bad at 30". That is very little legroom, no wonder they will not recline. I'm surprised they don't install a card reader and charge $20 to recline!

That's what I thought, too. I like the idea of seats not reclining but I think sittting in these seats won't be any better than sitting in a seat with the person in front of you fully reclined!

well that will suck for anyone that needs the extra leg room:confused3, I hope we never have to fly spirit

Both me and my wife are over 6' tall. I remember when Delta tried to drop seat pitch to 28.5" in the early '90s. Both of our knees touched the seat in front and it we had to twist a bit if the seat in front wanted to recline. I never flew with them again unless it was award travel.

Both of the flights mentioned are well over an hour long as well! :sad2:

Too bad americans are completely tied into must having the absolute lowest fare possible. All of these fees cater to buisness travel and leave family vacation travel twisting in the wind.

The article says Spirit's bookings are up 50% since they announced the new fee for carryon bags.

No such thing as bad publicity.

I've never considered Spirit and certainly would not in the future. I'm all for strict enforcement of carry-on size (and number), but their charge is ridiculous. I really hate sitting bolt upright and even with the slight recline, airplane seats are never comfortable. But to go with no recline and minimal leg room...I think not.

I find that regular seats that aren't reclined are fine with me. I have no problem with the non reclining seats. But the 28 inch pitch is pure horror.

On Airtran, I usually book the exit row seats where the row in front doesn't recline into me. Sometimes I upgrade us to Business Class which is even nicer although the seats in front of us do recline then. But there is room so it isn't too bad.

28" Pitch - :scared1: I'm a bit shy of 5'8" but I'm mostly legs. That would not be fun.

After riding in the back of a 993 911 behind a 6'2" person for 4 hours, anything is tolerable for me as I long as I rekindle that dark night. It had better come with a price break, though.
