Anyone been recently and can give me some input/opinion on this please?

Do a search under this forum. The general opinion is that the food is just OK and the entertainment corny. But wait until people chime in with details. You'll get from love it to hate it.

We were there a few months ago. For me, I don't care for Hawaiian music or hula dancing so it's a fairly long evening. The finale does consist of some fire dancing which is kind of cool though. OTOH, Mrs. jarestel loves the show and everything about it. So it goes without saying that I have seen it many, many, many times. The food is ok, not great, but plentiful. There is also unlimited beer and wine, which given my opinion of the show, is a godsend. I do think everyone should see it once because we all like different things and you may find, like Mrs jarestel, that you quite enjoy it. Good luck!

There are very few things I've done at Disney that I couldn't find some redeeming value in even if the price was a bit high. This show is one of them. The food was borderline inedible and the show was just not good. I would have ha a more enjoyable time ordering fast food and watching a video of a luau.

If I had to choose between going to this again or adding a third dentist visit to my yearly checkups I'd add the dentist appointment.

We went on September 1st. Food was good as usual for us. Show hasn't changed in a bunch of years. It was our honeymoon dinner show so we go every year. With MBBBQ closing in January I am guessing this may get busier even with the cheesy beginning parts.

We LOVED it :) The food was just okay and yes, the show is silly, but the music and dancing is awesome. We were in the front row and our daughters (3 and 6 at the time) got to get up and participate quite a bit. We would be going back again this year if we had time.

thank you all - hoping to sway DD and DH into this for one night.

I went about a million years ago....I enjoyed it but thought it was a bit long. I think I still have my Yucca beads somewhere.

I am booked for a return visit in FEB. From looking at Youtube, the show looks the same. I hope the food hasn't been around as long as the acts.

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have not been recently, but have attended twice in the past. The show is okay, not great. to me the food was good and plentiful. I have always recommended that if you are unlikely to ever visit Hawaii and attend a real luau, then one should attend the Spirit of Aloha. If Hawaii travel is in your future, then skip this for the real thing.

I was just perusing some choices and 'Spirit of Aloha' came up on the screen. I said under my breath to myself, "So bad. OMG, so very baaaad"
We were there this summer. I posted about it I'm sure, somewhere, but it was the only time my husband turned to me and said, "Of all the places we spent money at Disney, this is the only place I wish I hadn't."

We thought the food was very subpar. Sub Sub par. So, subpar, lordy. The entertainment went on forever and it wasn't until the last 15 minutes or so the energy kicked up and we enjoyed it. I honestly think I would walk across hot lava coals before I would do this again. I know hubby would. :teeth:
