You start out with a leisurely walk through the Polynesian Resort to get to the Luau Cove. Our server was Lou. I can't say enough good things about this guy's attention to detail in trying to make certain you have a great experience. He whips right through the menu with his handy LED flashlight at the ready. Of course, all the items are being served to you anyway so you really don't need the menu except for drinks.
The table next to us (and yes, these tables are really, really close) had a lot of demands and large party but he never lost his smile. He filled every request like it was the first.
The show is good, the performers are talented. The food is some of the best that I've had at Disney. Warning: This meal is messy. Score five bonus points if you brought wet ones. The appetizer was a salady leaves, pineapple and a really good bread. Lou, showing his prowess as a server swooped in with another section of pineapple replacing our empty section with an action so swift many may have missed it. I sure didn't see it happen.
The main course? Fried rice, pork ribs and chicken. These are served on a giant metal leaf and are great. This is the part you need the wet ones.
The server for the next row, a tall, slender guy with curly hair... alas he wasn't wearing his name tag or it was hidden actually sings the songs as he is zipping in and out of his row of tables. He even performed a dance step or two while carrying a platter.
This place is a great example of Disney service, food and entertainment. We had a great night.
