Hi - We have ADR for The Spirit of Aloha coming up in December. Couple of questions for anyone who has gone before. How is seating in Cat 3? How is the meal & show? Is it kid friendly? (ages 2 & 4) .
thanks!

Don't know you're circumstances, but the only kids we saw there were asleep!! Even up to about 8. Maybe you will not have packed as much into your day as they did but I don't think they got their money's worth :rotfl: but, maybe it was cheaper than a sitter.

I can't really answer about the Category 3 seating, we had great seats right up front, but I don't recall the seats in the back being on risers or anything like that so it might be hard for the little ones to see. My DS was 2 and my DN was 5 when we went, they were both very good and neither complained, but I don't think it was one of their favorites.

We all thought the food was pretty good...and you get a lot...family style. The service was good, too.

The show was not bad, the second half of the show was definitely better, the fire thrower was very good.

All in all, I'm glad we did it once, but I don't think we will do it again any time soon...

Well, my daughter was 6 when we went and she was definitely NOT sleeping!! She had a great time--she got to go up and dance and just loved it! I agree, the second half of the show is better. I can't remember which catergory we had--we were one of the first tables on the second level.

The food was decent--not the best food you'll ever had, but I honestly didn't think it was as bad as some people on here think it is. We had a great time overall!

We were in Cat. 2 and had a difficult time seeing the show, so I think that Cat 3 would be even worse. IMO, to really enjoy this show you need to be as close as possible.

I can't totally comment on Cat. 3 seating but there are risers as I had to go up them to get to the bathroom. The second half of the show is better than the first. Our DD has been going every year since she was 5 now she is 9. I think the food is good not great. I do think it gets a bad rap here on the Dis. Dessert is great. There is a point in the show where kids get to go up on stage and DD always enjoys that. The fire dancer is really cool. We also go in Dec. and have a great time or we wouldn't keep going back.:)

thanks so much for all your responses! I guess we will just wing it and see what happens. :)

We were Cat 3 for an 8:00 seating Nov. 2007. Seating was great, on a level above everyone else, stage right. Have a great view of the stage and all that is going on. Didn't need to be up front, heard and saw everything just fine. Great service from the gal waiting on us. Food was good (not great, just good). Didn't have any young children with us but the ones sitting around us were well behaved and seemed to be having a great time, especially when the second half of the show picked up the pace. It's something you can do every ten years or so. Hope that helps.

For a party of two, will we have our own table, or do they put strangers of small parties at a table together?

We were just two when we went and were put with another couple at the same table. It was just fine with us.

We just got back from Disney and we went to the Luau and sat at a Cat 3 Table - it was pretty bad. It was in an upraised section but we were the very last table in the back - the kids couldn't see at all (we had two 11 year olds and a 7 year old). The performers did come and say 'hello' to our section. We were on the DDP and it bothered us that we had to use 2 meals! The 9:30 pm Hoop de Doo was a much better show, much better food, and we got a table right up front as during the 9:30pm show you can sit in Cat 1 using the DDP.
