Spirit of Aloha

We have done the Spirit of Aloha show previously, but our upcoming trip will be our first time to do this show on DDP. When I called for reservations, the CM told me that with the DDP this included alcoholic beverages. Well, no one in my family drinks alcoholic beverages, so I asked if this could include non-alcoholic frozen beverages for us and our children. She said yes. When we went before and paid cash, only soft drinks were included. Has anyone done Aloha on the DDP and is this CM correct?

I would like to know what people thought of this and if it was worth 2TS on ddp? My mom and aunt want to go but I am not sold on it. Also I would like to know about the drinks too since we also do not drink alcoholic drinks. Sorry to jump in on your post but it raises a good question. Thanks

We did it on the DDP last year and we really liked the show and the food. Worth 2 TS maybe? But they have added more places that take the DDP for 1 TS so I probably won't go to it again since I can go to other nicer places for 1 TS now (ex. Kona or LeCellier)

As for the drinks you can get whatever you want to drink. I had the beer just because I think it tastes good with the BBQ, but FIL had tea, DH had coke, DD#1 had lemonade, DD#2 had milk, and MIL had a glass of wine.

On this trip I had several non-alcoholic drinks and I never paid for one so I don't think you would have to pay for it there either!!!

And they gave the kids those ice cub lights for free in their frozen pina coladas (virgin). If you are traveling from a resort not on the rail give yourself plenty of time.

So, you felt this was worth the two TS? I am SO torn on this...I have been reading such negative reviews, I have been thinking of cancelling this one.

Was the food and show really good? We will be with in-laws and our DS2...will he be entertained??

Any comments/suggestions would be GREAT to hear. Our ADR is for the 5:15 show.

I can honestly say we enjoyed it. Our girls were 11 at the time. The food is served family style and all tasted really good. (Chicken, rice, salad, bread) The show can be a little loud if you are sitting all the way in the front, if your 2yr old is startled by loudness.
They do a really nice job telling the stories with dances and letting the audience join in. We went in May and it was at the 8pm show, the fire dancing was great in the dark. With older kids it was fine to wait till later to eat. They even had matching hawaiian dresses for dinner. What would you do if not this???

All the free beer, wine,beverages you want?? I read somewhere that they also service a tropical rum punch drink, has anyone tried this? All I can say is thank goodness for Disney transportation- would hate to have to drive back to my resort the night we are going. Tropical rum punch- yum yum!!!!!!!

I'm not sure what we would do if we didn't do this, DMIL wanted to do this last time and was disappointed that we didn't get a chance too. I figured since we are going on the free dining this is a perfect opportunity to try it. I just hate "wasting" the credits if it isn't worth it, since we are also using 2TS for CRT breakfast. We also have ADRs at LeCellier and Boma, which I am very excited about. And breakfast at Donalds in AK. I just didn't know if we should have done Ohana's or the Hoop De Doo instead??

Maybe I should keep our ADRs. But, maybe I should have done the later show...we booked back in May for this, so our seats should be near the front, hate to cancel for the late show and have bad seats...

DS is NOT startled by loud noises...so he should be fine as far as that goes. And if the interaction with the kids is good, he will love to get up and dance.

So many decisions is right,,, then you get them all made and if you have plenty of time before your trip you start to second guess them...

I don't think I would change to a later show. First because you probably have great seats booking that early. Second, isn't it more likely for your DS to get tired at that later meal??? He may not enjoy it as much??

Oh, and I don't know if you have done the Breakfastosaurus before at AKL but, it was quite disappointing. The food was just ok. You are probably going for the characters but, Chef Mickeys or the Crystal Palace is much better. Actually we like CP the best for breakfast but no Mickey..hmmm

We went to Aloha when our boys were 10mos and 5yrs. We were not in the front, but on the upper level in the middle front row. IMO perfect seat when you go with kids. We all really enjoyed the show. We went at the end of jamuary at the 5:15 show. The food was very good, not so much my 1st choice, but very good. My guys loved it. The kids get their own meals and can also share from the adults food. We got both just incase they didn't like the adult food. The show was awesome. DS5 still talks about the finale, one year later! It is also very nice how they invite all of the kids on stage to learn how to hula dance. Great photo opps!
I think that it would be worth the 2TS credits.
If you didn't do this, where would you use your credits at?
