Has anyone been to this? I was thinking of doing the buffet and luau (?) (show) but it costs two food vouchers per person on the DDP. Was it worth it? How was the food? How was the show? :confused3

We went, but we where not on the plan, It was excellent.

The DDE card can only be used for the later show. Our credit card was charged the full amount at the time of booking and then when we checked in they sent us to a seperate desk where the 20% was refunded to our credit card. We went this past January and LOVED it. The food was great, the show was great, and the fire-thrower was amazing! I had heard bad reviews before going so I really didn't build it up too much, but now we are planning on going back during our next trip, it was wonderful! If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks Stitch! We are planning for the late show...how long is the show? We have two boys 8 & 9 and I am hoping that after a day at the parks, this is not too much, too late for them. Did you see many kids there and did it look like they were enjoying it? We've never done anything like this so I thought it would be a new experience for them. How was the food? Any info would be appreciated!! :sunny:

I went with my sister (age 20) and my parents so we didn't have any little kids with us, but the whole time I kept thinking about different things that my daughter would have liked about it. She's 4, so I think older kids would like it even more because they will be able to follow the story. However, some of the littler ones were sleeping on parent's laps by the end of the show, but I think an 8 and 9 year old would be fine. A little girl at the table next to us (maybe 4 or 5) was standing up and clapping and trying to do the hula dances, it was so cute.

If I am remembering correctly it went from about 8-10. I wouldn't try to do this after a long day in the parks. It would be too much sitting for tired kids. Maybe on more of a relaxed day or after having an afternoon break.

I have pictures of the food, but I have no idea how to post them! First there was pineapple and bread and salad. Next came chicken, rice, and vegetables. There was also another meat with the chicken, but we don't eat red meat so we didn't get that and I therefore can't remember what it was! Finally they brought out a chocolate volcano dessert which was really good. The timing of the food was great too. They had the first course (bread, pineapple, salad) there for you when you got there and then there were breaks in the show when they brought the other courses out. That way you could enjoy eating and not be trying to watch the show and missing out on the yummy food.

Have a great time!

Yuck. The food was gross. If you've ever been to a hotel for a conference and gotten lunch served to you there, you know what to expect as far as quality here. They mass-produce everything and bring it out like a production line. I call it "industrial-grade" food.

The show is just dumb. There is no real story. I guess the performers do a good job, but isn't Disney supposed to be about storytelling?

Guess I have simple taste, or I'm easy to please! But really, all four of us LOVED it. We'll be back to the show in December.

How long does the luau last? I booked us for our arrival day in December and am hoping my DS won't lose patience before it's over. Oh, do they start bringing food right away? That should keep his interest at the beginning at least, lol.

We were on the free dining plan, but I would not have paid $100 for the two of us to go. The performers on the second half of the show are very good. The first part of the show is dumb.

The food is ok, kind of what you expect for a show. Nothing to rave about, except I did like the spare ribs. There was way, way too much food for the two of us.

I do have to admit they start serving you right away. They have too. They have 2 hours to serve you and clean up after you for the next show
