Not alot is written about this.....can anyone tell me if you liked it ? We've got to change a reservation and I can get the Cat 2 seating. I thought this might be a fun thing to do..... it's me, dh and dd4

thank you!!!

I've never done this, but I can tell you that last Sept. we stayed at the Poly and had occasion to see the show let out a few times. Each and every time I commented at the sour, grim expressions on the faces of everyone who was leaving the show. It was really startling.

To me, that doesn't say a lot about the quality of the experience. But again, take it for what it's worth as I've never actually done it myself!

It's a fun enough show. The food isn't anything fantastic though. It was also much better before they redid it to be more attractive to young children. In my opinion, its still worth doing at least once.

see, that's what I was afraid of. I haven't read anything good about it at all and didn't want to waste 2 dining credits.

I did go in a totally different direction though..... I booked Flying Fish Cafe. :cool1: We have never eaten there but the menu looked awesome and it seems to be a crowd favorite. here's hoping !! :woohoo:

thanks for your replies, I truly appreciate you helping me make the decision!!

Agree - skip it! If you want to do a fun dinner show the Hoop de Doo is a riot and the food is delicious!!!:thumbsup2

Ha! I was gonna say skip it too, but now that I've seen you picked Flying Fish (which we LOVE) I feel even better that you are skipping it. The food is meh. Flying Fish is phenomenal.

Oh YAY!! I'm so psyched to hear that. I've been reading stuff here and there about it and it sounds so good. I think our DD will have a good time w/ the choc puzzle! It sure does sound like the Aloha show sucks!! :rotfl2: I'm SOOOO glad I asked my DIS friends!! You can always count on good advice here!!!

now im going to be the odd woman out and say we loved it....were going again hopefully in february and will be booking it again. we took our dd4 to see it and she loved it...we dd buy toys for the kids as it is a long experience, 2 hrs, but they do stop the story long enough for you to eat. i didnt book it last fall after asking many opinions on here. but decided to give it a go in april. were glad we did, but to each his own.

We loved it too. My DH thought the food was the best he'd had during our 9 day stay. And we ate at a lot of good restaurants. I thought the food was good. I still have my souvenir glass, so I can pretend that I'm there. :cloud9: I'm going again in Oct with friends, and we've booked it again. The show is fun and very entertaining. I think you will enjoy whichever you chose.

Refresh my memory --- What day's do they not have a Show?
TYIA ;)

I think it's everyday, twice a night..... If I remember right, the options were 5:15 or 7:15. (unless it rains and they cancel). I don't think it's like Fantasmic where it's only certain days.

ok so I was SO disappointed when I was planning my ADR's for our first trip home to OKW in Nov that I couldnt get into Spirit the evening I wanted to. I wanted something special the first night we arrived and thought it would have been perfect...but now I am wondering if things happen for a reason. :rotfl2:

Can anyone else offer suggestions? I know we want to go to Boma for breakfast (LOVE the coffee!!) one day and I am sure we will eat at Olivia's since it's our home resort. We plan on grazing our way through EPCOT for the F&W festival one day and I want to do Crystal Palace when we are in MK that day. I am open to thoughts! Please?! I am tearing my hair out. In a happy way! :yay:

We went 2 years ago and had a very enjoyable time. Show was fun and entertaining and food was quite good and plentiful.

That said it is not worth 2 dining credits at the expense of another 1 credit dinner. What we've done is pay OOP for a less expensive buffet like Ohanas or Boma rather than use our credits. Then use the credits at Aloha. We've also payed OOP for 1/2 of our party at Aloha in order to use the credits at a more expensive 1 TS dinner.

If you never seen it than go. It's a nice show.
Everybody likes different things .

we went to the Luau in May and it was my husband, my son and his wife and two grandchildren......granddaughter is 4 and grandson is 6. (and of course me) we had the best time. The kids enjoyed it and even got up and did the hula with them.

When you are seated and your drink orders are taken. If you daughter wants one of the kids items that are ordered separate, do it then. Our grandkids got hotdogs ..some others had mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. The gkids still ate off the all you can eat offerings that are on your table. But we were playing it safe by getting the hotdogs too..

It was a pleasant evening and I think you and your dd will enjoy it

We LOVE it and we have had excellent meals there everytime. Infact the meal is one of our family favorites! I think you should go for it! The show is cute too and it is a nice evening out of the parks.
