Spirit of Aloha questions...

I just made reservations for the Spirit of Aloha dinner show for our trip in September. Is the food good? I read somewhere that in addition to wine and bud they have a rum punch. Is this true and is it yummy? I'm afraid that I will see the fancy rum drinks for sale and end up spending $$ on those. Also, do they assign seating based on the time you make your ADR or is it first come first served? One last thing, will the kids like it? They are 3 and 1. Thanks.

We loved Spirit of Aloha. In my opinion it is one of the best meals that we have at Disney. I can't remember if it was rum punch or not but they did have some fruity drink that came in a coconut monkey head. While it was yummy, it was very strong. I couldn't drink all of it. I'm not sure how they assigned seats. To me it looked like it was first come first served. Unforntunately we fell asleep in our room and didn't wake up in time. We got there about 10 minutes before it started and were at the last table. Which - still wasn't a bad seat. We had kids with us in range from 4 - 10. They all enjoyed it and there is audience participation. The kids get to go up and dance. The 1 year old might not enjoy it as much as the 3 year old but will certainly be entertained by the fire, lights, and colors. Hope that helps!

Only beer and wine are included in the price. The rum drink is extra. It's quite a large drink so you could split it with someone.
I would suggest getting there a little early so you can sit up closer to the stage. We sat a little further in the back and while it wasn't bad seating, it would have been nice to sit a tad bit closer.
