Spirit of Aloha question

DD9 is asking to do SOA again, since Hoop De Doo will be refurb. Last Sept, we arrived early, as directed, and the waiting area was uncomfortable- no seating (one bench in the area), and very crowded with LOTS of people standing pretty close together. Are there any other options for waiting? What is the latest we can arrive prior to showtime, and can we hang out in the resort lobby for a bit instead?

This is not exactly an answer to your question, but I can tell you this.

Last summer we were going from MK to SoA and ended up on a monorail that got stuck behind one that had broken down. We got to SoA about 15 or 20 minutes past show time. No problem. They sat us right away, I assume right where we were going to be anyway. We did miss the beginning of the show, but all turned out well for us and we had a great time.
