I am going to definitely book this for my June trip. There are 2 choices either 5:00 or 8:00 pm. I would like to do the earlier one but wonder if the later show when it would be dark out would be better??? Has anyone been to the 5:00 show and was it still impressive in the daylight? I was thinking the performers with the fire might be more exciting at night. Sorry for rambling but trying to get my itinerary in order here and cannot decide.

Thanks for any help.

Personally I would choose the meal that is a better time for you to have dinner. For example with my family 8:00 PM is just to late to be eating with two younger children. Most adults who don't have smaller children tend to prefer the later dining time. Is there a time that is closest to what your group is most comfortable doing?

I had debated heavily over attending this show and I decided to pass on it during this trip. Other reviewers stated that the show was fairly long and with the exception of the fireeater it is the same thing over and over again, which made it difficult for their children to want to sit through (i.e. they use the words boring after 30 minutes). I personally really wanted to attend the show but my two 6 year olds would not sit through something that appears to be repetative.

We went in September and because it had been a bit of a rainy trip, and because you are eating outside, covered but outside, none the less, we went for the earlier of the two seatings. The fire part is at the end, and it was getting a little darker and was still a nice show.

We also went in September, for the 5:00 show. I know this show seems to not get the best reviews, but I really enjoyed it. (And yes, I have been to the real thing in Hawaii.)
Our 5:00 time was fine, but it was September and dark towards the end of the show.
I would do what the pp said- go when you would want to eat and not worry about the light, it will be great either way.:goodvibes

We decided to eat dinner at O'Hana instead. I will save the luau for another trip.

Thanks again!
Nicole
