I'm considering making reservations for this, but I'm not sure if the 5:15 or 8:00 seating would be better. I'm thinking that it would be better at 8:00 once it is darker outside since they have fire dancers and such, but would rather go early at 5:15 so that we don't miss the parades in the parks. WWYD?

I was wondering the same thing. It is darker at 8:00 so does that make a difference?
I am leaning towards the 5:00 show because when we do the Hoop we are so stuffed (and some have too much beer) that we don't feel like walking around much. I am thinking we could go over to MK if anyone feels up to it or just sit on the beach at Poly and watch the fireworks. After that our stomachs should be settled enough to walk back to SOG.

Waiting for some replies.

I saw it at night and I would think the darker sky would make the fire stuff all the more cooler. Since the fire effects was the best part (for me at least) I'd say go for the later show. I'm sure its still pretty cool even when its still light out though.

Depends what time of year you go. Won't it be darker much earlier in winter? Afterall, they wouldn't show Wishes when it's light out and we're going in November and Wishes is at 6pm, so I'm counting on it being close to dark for the early Luau.

:surfweb: We did the early show last summer and loved it, the fire dancer was really cool, but it was light outside, although it would have been light out even if we did the 8pm show since we were there in the summer.

I bet it would look pretty cool :cool1: at night though and then after the show stroll to the beach and watch the fireworks at the magic kingdom :yay:

8 pm is the Best time=== Cause you walk thru all the lush plant's and its over in time to walk down to the beach to see the Firework's . What a Great way to end the evening... I can't wait to go again :cutie:

We like the late time better and have seem it 3 times. The earlier time chops up our day too much as we might not want to stop our activities at 3:00ish to make our way back to the resort to shower/change and then go to the show. PLus, our children are not big fans of the food so they would be hungry all over again if we went to the 5:15 show.

How long does the Luau last? I would like to watch the fireworks from the beach after so I would plan it around that.

We booked the 8:00pm show for 2 weeks from today - Sept 27th!

DH wanted the early seating, but kids and I all agreed on the late.
Like a previous poster said - I didn't want to have to leave the Parks in the middle of the afternoon in order to get back to our room and get ready - and we're staying right there at the Poly!

Besides, most of our other dinner reservations that week are later in the evenings too (6pm and later). 5pm just seems to early to me, especially because we know we'll probably be awake until well after 10pm anyway.

Well, it looks like I was worried about the wrong thing....rather than being concerned with what time to choose, I should have been more concerned with just getting a reservation at all! I called and was not able to book it b/c every night we are there (both 5pm and 8pm) are all booked. :sad1:
DD is going to be soooo disappointed!

Oh no! That is too bad. Maybe you can find something else special to do together.

Going late Oct hope to enjoy the show as much as we enjoyed Hoop De Do in May.
