Hi Everyone

I made a PS Ressie the other day for the Spirit of Aloha Dinner.

I am trying to get some feedback on the new show.

Is the food good? Show good? Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks to all.

I would also like to know. I have an 8:00 PS and was wondering if we could make it out to see the water parade or fireworks?
What time does the show end?
Thanks!

I also would like to know how to find out if the show is canceled due to inclement weather since when I made mine they told me this can happen. Thanks.

We just returned from our last trip to WDW (May 26-June 1) and we had ressies for the Spirit of Aloha dinner show on May 29 @ 8:00 PM. We were staying at the WL and we decided to drive over to the Poly instead of using WDW transportation. I felt like the dinner & show was overpriced. Be forewarned - when you purchase your tickets, you will be told to be at the dinner show by 7:30 PM. I guessed that this would give the servers ample time to sit everyone - wrong. You end up standing in a line for 30 minutes which I thought was outrageous for the price you pay for the show. They do take a family picture during the waiting time which they will sell to you for $27.00. The food was OK: chicken, pork ribs, vegtables, rice, and a volcano cake dessert. You also have a choice of soft drinks, wine, or beer. If you a tropical drink (pina colada, etc.), the cost is extra. There are three portions of the show. The first short portion takes place before the meal, then there is another short portion which takes place between the meal and dessert, and the main portion of the show is after dessert. My nephew really enjoyed the last portion of the show which has dances from several pacific islands. I don't think I would spend the $ again. If you have any specific questions, let me know.

Hi

So, basically you are saying.....save your $$ and do something else?

Its very hard to get any responses at all to this topic and I am really on the fence about it.

I could eat two places @ WDW for that price.

I will have to give this more thought. Thanks for your honest opinion.

Jonsmom: I spent about $170 for three adults and one child which I felt was overpriced for what was offered. The food was just OK, not worth $170. The last portion of the dinner show was very good with the traditional polynesian dancers but still not worth the price IMHO. Also be aware that the gratuity is already included in the price. The service we received from our waitress was medicore at best (probably because she knew she would be receiving a certain amount). This is supposed to be an all you can eat affair. There were several items (drinks & food) which we asked for refills on and never received. My nephew asked for more ribs and she did not bring them until after the dessert was served. Maybe others on the board have had a more positive experience than we did?

They will refund your money in case of bad weather. The 8:00 PM show was over about 10:15 PM. I will be glad to answer any other questions.

Thanks so much for your honest input. Wow-$170 is alot of $$.

I hate it when meals have the tip included. Think about it......why would a server have to give good service. They dont need to!
Bringing the ribs after dessert is unacceptable! Could you have complained?

I really think instead of spending all that $$ on one meal, I will get two meals out of it instead.

Thanks for all the details,
Joanne

We have purchased tickets (2 adults and 2 kids) for the Spirit of Aloha Dinner. We have never been to this, but have been to the Hoop Dee Doo several times (at the same cost).

I have heard many mixed opinions regarding the cost of the dinners shows at WDW. We happen to LOVE the Hoop Dee Doo because the show is such a Disney classic and the food is plentiful and good (not Calif. Grill quality obviously, but good). IMO the memories it has created for me and my family are PRICELESS.

Having poor service can certainly damper an evening however. Hopefully if enough people complain, that server will either "shape up or ship out".

So I guess my point is...try it at least once. I'd rather do this and say, no that wasn't for me than "I wish I had done that while I had the chance"
