Hi! My group of 7 have the Luau booked for August 25th at 5:15. We were planning on using our dining credits(14 all together) for this.. We are concerned now because this is the night before we go home. We were told if bad weather it is cancelled. Should we change to something else? I would hate to waste 14 credits if it is cancelled and we can't get in anywhere else. My kids really wanted to do this and we are staying at the Poly so it was very convenient. Are you doing this on your 1st day or last day? If it's toward the beginning of your trip, I think you can get moved to the next show, but I am not for sure. We are going on September 2 (2 days later we leave) so I am definately hoping for no rain. I was thinking of changing it,but I am going to pray to the "Gods" that the rain stays away.

Hope it all works out for you and you have a great time. We have never been to the Aloha and heard good reviews so we are giving it a try. We even have our "hawaiian" shirts already. :)

The first time we booked this (the 5:30pm show) we were cancelled....and of course 30 minutes later the rain stopped. We went to Kona instead. We would have rather gone to Ohana, but everyone had the same idea as us and literally RUSHED the place. We did have a nice meal at Kona anyway, but were of course disappointed about missing the show.

I can't tell you how often it happens, but you may have a better chance at the later show, as usually as you may know it is not uncommon to get an afternoon shower in Orlando.

The next year we did book the late show and had no problem.

I have it booked for the 5:30 show because I have a 2 year old. Do you think if I change it to earlier in the week and it gets cancelled I'll be able to get reservations later in the week? we really wanted to try it during the free dining because for all of us to go and pay would be very expensive and who knows if free dining will ever be offered again! Thanks for your help!

We have attended the Luau several times, and only the most visit was canceled. This was last June. With a party of five, we were seated, had been served our meal, and just as we were about finished eating a very large thunderstorm began with strong winds. The luau's entertainment was canceled, a full refund was given, and the meal was on Disney.

The good news? A free meal, with a full refund. The bad news? no luau.

Breaks of the game I reckon. No need to rush to another resturant however. I ended up spending the evening at Disney Downtown.

Enjoy.
