It's a pretty decent no-frills airline. I have flown them a couple of times out of DTW to Denver (they no longer fly there). I have plans to fly them in June because their fare beat SWA and it's a non stop.
we always fly Spirit out of Atlantic City. We've never had any problems. Like a pp said, it's definitely a no-frills airline, but that's what keeps the cost down!
We flew Spirit from Atlantic City in 1994....everything went just fine and the flight was better than the USAir flights we took for our honeymoon in 1992.
Hey, they're still in business...that's gotta mean they have something going for them!
We have flown spirit out of AC several times and we love it. They our very helpful with the kids and luggage. It was always very easy to check in our luggage. They were always on time and usually arrived in Florida early.
Ever since ATA started going downhill here in Chicago I have been trying to use Spirit. I have used them a couple of times and had very good experiences on their flights. They are in the middle of a fleet renewal program and will be getting brand new Airbus aircraft to replace their aging MD-80s. I only hope that they don't renew their fleet too fast and at too great of an expense. That one of the things (along with others) that did ATA in.
