Spirit Airlines - Atlantic City

Anyone have any experience with Spirit Airlines out of Atlantic City? Prices for our May trip seem too good to be true?

Any information would be greatly appreciated. We usually fly Southwest out of BWI.

Yes, we flew out of AC last fall on Spirit. It was a new experience for us, and I have to say I was really happy with them. They left on time, the stewardess with my kids (sorry, I forget what you're supposed to call stewardesses now!!) was so friendly and nice - she got them flight pins and really made an effort to talk to them seeing as it was their first flight ever.

The airplane itself was clean and although a bit cramped, we even got pretzels and juice for free. Parking was pretty cheap too (cheaper than Philly, but you'll have to call because I forget the exact price). All in all, I'd definitely fly with them again.

I have traveled on Spirit from AC and it is nice. Nice parking and it is nothing like going to Philly. If you get there early enough it will not be too crowded. I live about 15 mins from there. I know the prices are pretty good right now. My DH and I are going in May also but we are driving. He did look into the prices of the flights and saw that they were low right now, but I think we are still driving down. Any questions about the area please don't hesitate to ask!

We've flown from EWR to MCO three times and from Atlantic City once. I've had no problems with Spirit and my husband actually perfers it. The flight is shorter (I know - by about 20 minutes) and the less time he spends on a plane, the better off we all are. Also, he has some issues with going out of Newark since 9/11. He'll do it, but not without concerns.

I think EWR is very effiecient and Atlantic City is very, well, simple. However, they are very thorough - to the point where I had to take my shoes off for the random security check.

Last time I checked, the parking was $4 per 24 hours. We've never left our car at the airport before, but our chauffer (aka my mom) balked at the idea of getting us to our 7 AM flight.

The flight times (out early, back late) and the lowest fare we've paid yet are what convinced us to go with Spirit again for our February trip.

Don't expect much from the airport itself. No big gift shops or restaurants like at MCO and EWR. But it can't be beat for convenience.

Keep in mind that Spirit will give vouchers if the fare goes down, so don't hesitate to book.

Ever since we flew out of AC, we have never looked back. The convenience of Atlantic City airport is great, no traffic to get there, and we have been happy with Spirit Airlines. We leave our car in Long Term Parking also.

Another yes vote for Spirit at AC. The flights have always been great & you can't beat the parking prices & how peaceful the airport is compared to PHL.

Here's yet another vote for Atlantic City.............The ease of travel, the great (cheap) parking cannot be beat. My most recent trip to Myrtle Beach over Labor Day was without problems. Definitely so much more comfortable than Philly. Philly is the pits. Unfortunately, I do have to use them more than I would like.

Ditto what everyone else has been saying. Spirit out of ACY is excellent. You can't beat the convenience and price - it's well worth it. Enjoy!

I don't have anything additional to add but just want to echo what everyone else has said.
I love the small airport -- very easy to get around and parking is very easy also. That combined with the low fares makes it a favorite for us.
We are flying out of Phil. International in March and I am dreading it -- the traffic, the huge airport to get around, parking, etc.
