Spirit Airlines and seat reservations

In the past I've read where people were upset that they could not choose seats online if they had made changes to their flights. I had also made changes, but just went on the web site and was able to choose seats. I guess they have changed this policy. I was even able to choose a seat assignment for the ressies I made on the phone. Now I am so relieved that I don't have to worry about my DSs getting seperated from me. I was stressing over that a little.

I usually always fly SWA or NWA, but in july, I need to fly to Denver on Spirit.

Do you get your seat assignments when you book or at checkin?

I got my seat assignments online 90 days out. You can do it anytime after 90 days up until 12 hours before (I think, not sure about the 12 hours). You can also wait until check in to get your assignment.


I just checked the web site and you must assign your seat online within 48 hours of departure. It says to assign early space is limited on line.

I guess I have a couple of months before I even have to worry about getting an assigned seat. I am so used to SWA and just grabbing a seat when I get on the plane!

I just hope I don't forget! LOL
