Just don't do it.
We drove from DC to Miami non-stop overnight last week. Spirit kept delaying our flight .. past 1am. had they canceled it we never would have made the Magic. turns out it took off after 2am .. but ..
there were no other flight options. it's a gamble. and not worth it.

The biggest problem with the low-end, no-frills airlines. If something goes wrong with the plane or the staff, there are often no alternatives to get you to your destination.

Sister in law had three straight Spirit Airline flights cancelled on her. With one, they talked her into driving the next morning to get another flight at a different airport an hour further away. They got there the next morning and yup, they cancelled that flight too.

I agree. They were constantly on the local news where I used to live when irate passengers got stuck at the airport with no travel alternatives. Would never fly with them.
