Spinoff...What do you call a pacifier?

We called it a beep because that's what my mom called it, but we are the only ones I know of who called it that.

Paci or Pacifier.
I've heard Binky and bobo, but we never called them that.

We call it a pacifier.

But two names I have heard recently are a silencer and a sassy..... Both of which I found interesting....

Mine are 15 and 19. It may also be regional.

Paci for us too. Mine are 16, 12, and 10. First one used it for a year. 2nd one used it for a year, we took it away, she got sick with every "kid/baby" virus that summer possible, we caved and gave it back since #3 was already on the way. She was 19 months when he was born. He hated them, so she stole all of his. She gave them up eventually - She was about 22 months when she lost interest after she realized she couldn't yell at her little brother with the paci in her mouth.

Pretty much been the story of their life since. I personally think she needs one more now than ever with this 12-year old attitude in full swing.....at least 15 times a day I think back to the "good ol days" when I could just pop that thing in her mouth and she would stop screaming and crying.

Binky. I didn't even know it was a brand name.

Yup. Binkie. Even if it's not a Binkie brand, it's still a Binkie. We used NUK. Still called it a Binkie.

14 years and 2 kids and I never knew people called them Binkies because that's an actual brand!

We just called them pacifiers, sometimes pacy for short.

Paci here. . My kids are 6, 6 and 2. They never used one.

When twin DDs were tiny we called them "Fires." They used to drop them from their cribs and call out "fire, fire." We never thought much about it but DMIL was a bit alarmed while experiencing this during an overnight stay one time.

FF 30+ years and our DGDs know them as binkys. Their use of them was short lived, but the baby dolls have binkys.

Odd fact: I know a guy called Binky. He's around 60 years old, and has been Binky his whole life (though I'm sure that's not what's on his birth certificate.)

We started off calling at a passy. But my oldest said pappy instead. So that's what they are in my household

With my second dd we called it the @#$% pappy. Because that was the adjective we gave the gazillion pappies that we had stuffed around the house/car/bag etc. If we couldn't find one? You don't want to know! She was a beautiful baby but not when she didn't have her pappy.

My third didn't care for one.

We always called them pluggies. My MIL was from Ireland and she called them dummies.

My boys never used a pacifier so not sure what we would have called them if they did use them.

Binky, bink for short. It is what my parents called it with my youngest brother so that's what I knew it as. However, I never knew anyone in this area to call it that besides me. I was a military brat so I also am not originally from here. Most people in this area called it either paci, pacifer, or nuk.
