Are there any Catholics (current/former/lapsed/dropped out) who received a Confirmation name and who are willing to reveal it?

As far as I know, Confirmation names had to be those of saints.

Mine is Barbara. Angela Marie Barbara.

Other faiths who have such names are also welcome to contribute.

I chose Brigid.

So, I'm Faith Caitlin Brigid.

EDIT: apparently she's the patron saint of a lot of things... worth noting: Ireland, poets, dairymaids, nuns, cattle (?) and infants.

It was fun as a kid because you actually got to choose your own name!! Within reason, of course. I chose Barbara mainly because I liked Barbra Streisand. But the nun overruled my request to spell it like hers.

And the nun had to veto some other choices too. "No, there was NOT a Saint Elvis or a Saint Tiffany!!"

I don't remember mine... i wonder if my mother does? I'll have to ask. I remember having to choose but not what I ended up deciding on.

I don't think I put nearly as much thought into it as my daughter put into choosing hers. She searched high and low for a female saint associated with nature/animals and finally found one that is a strikingly good fit for her - St Kateri Teckakwitha, patroness of the environment and ecology and the first Native American to be canonized.

I chose Monica. However, I'm divorced and remarried and no longer attend a Catholic Church. (Tho I do attend a Methodist one.)

Wow, I haven't thought of mine in ages but it is Teresa. When I was a kids, my mom told me they had considered naming me Teresa and I preferred it t my name so I chose it as my confirmation name. Not that ai ever really used it.

Not Catholic, so this may be a dumb question......if your name is already a saint's name, do you get another confirmation name?

DawnM, it's not a dumb question. Yes, you do get another saint's name at confirmation.

Elizabeth (St. Elizabeth Seton. Patron Saint of Catholic Schools and the first US-born saint.)

Elizabeth. I went to a Catholic high school so I feel like it was a much bigger deal to me then than it is now. When I would doodle in my text books and write my name over and over because I wasn't paying attention in class, I would write out my full name as First Middle Confirmation Last.

And you can use your middle name. Ds17 just used his middle name, because the religious education director was making the kids do research on the saint's name if they were choosing one, and writing a paper. Mine is Christine.

Ex-Catholic (current Protestant) here.

My Confirmation name and middle name are the same. John.

Mine is SUsan. I believe there was a st Susanna. I wanted Susan after my grand mother. My dh confirmation name is Joseph. He didn't have a middle name so he uses that. My son picked Michael and my daughter picked Angela. Names also can be biblical names not just saints names anymore.
