What do you consider to be tall for a woman and for a man?

5'8" for a woman, 6" for a man. I'm 5'5.5"

I would agree with that, by average standards. By model standards, bump the women up 4" and the men up 3" and you'll get someon who is, by model standards, "to tall" for the industry. 5'8" is already too short for the model industry. But if a girl is 5'8" her agency will list her as 5'9". If a girl is 6" they will list her as 5'11". I don't know that much about the male model side of the industry, so I can't speak for that.

I'm 5'7". I think that's a pretty average height for a woman. Anything above that, I would consider tall.

My father was 6'3". I thought that was very tall until I met my boyfriend, who is 6'7". He has redefined the word "tall" to me, to say the least. :lmao: But I would still consider a 6' man to be taller than average.

I'm 5'11" which is tall for a female. I have the hardest time finding pants long enough - I have very long legs! I remember as a teen, I wished I was shorter - I felt like I towered over my friends. I would have loved to be about 5'8" or so, I felt that was average.

:thumbsup2 I am 5'9" but all legs! When I wear heels my mom calls me the queen of the Amazons.

most people are tall to me - im 5'2.5"

but i dont think 6' is tall for a guy. possibly because the guys i know are between about 5'9" and 6'5"
i dont much like standing next to them lol

I think anything over 5'8" is pretty darn tall for a woman and over 6'1" for a guy is very tall.

I'm 5'6, and while I don't think that's tall, plenty of people tell me I'm tall. Maybe I just look taller because I'm all legs and a short torso. I always have a hard time finding pants that are long enough because my height is all in my legs.

But I would say over 5'9 for a woman, and a man... over 6'5. But that's because I like my men to be between 5'11 and 6'3, so I don't think that's tall.

I think there is a big difference between the average height in real life and model height.

Most people I see in everyday life are what I consider average height of 5'5 or 5'6 and rarely do I notice young women or ladies that are over 5'9.

I'm 5'3" so I think women 5'8" or taller are pretty tall because they are taller than me. But I have a lot of friends that height so I don't think it is an uncommon height.

For men, I'd say over about 6'3" DH is 6'1" and he is really about average with most of our friends. We have many who are taller. I know a lot in the 6'5"-6'7" range...they are tall!

I think 5"10 is tall for a woman. I have two cousins are 5"8 and they never really seemed too tall to me.

I'm 5'8" and I've been told by several people that I'm tall but I don't think I'm all that tall. I'm also like you in that I have extremely long legs (as in I've stood beside a man who was 6 feet tall and our legs were the same length) and a very short torso.

That's funny because I'm the opposite. I'm 5'5", but I have short legs and most people would consider me on the short end. And my pants are always too long

And I would agree with over 5'8" for females, and over 6' for males.

On the news they were comparing a few decades back with now. The average women went from 5'3" to 5'4" and the man went from 5'8" to 5'9.5".

I would say tall would be 5'8" for a women and 6'1" for a man.

I am 5'7" and find myself to be taller than most other women that I come in contact with. Most of my coworkers and friends seem to be about 5'4" or so. I am 45 years old and back when I was in my teens and 20s, I was told that I was "tall". I find girls/kids in general to be much taller these days so I don't feel tall now, just average.

To me anything taller than 5-1 is tall. I really hate choosing between a stiff neck or talking to someone's belly button. :rotfl:

I would call a woman over 5'9" and a man over 5"11" tall. Several inches above that, I'd call them very tall.
