For work I have to wear the full deal. Full makeup, more intense colors than normal. The lights there fade color out and without it I look like a ghost. And I have to take my makeup with me to touch up during the day.

Normally, for something nice, I wear it full, just in more natural colors.

At home, I may or may not wear any at all. It just depends on what's going on.

My daily make-up routine consists of chapstick and moisturizer. If I'm going out, I'll put on a little powder, some mascara and a colored lipstick. And then, inevitably, I will forget I'm wearing the mascara, rub my eye, and end up with raccoon eyes in the first hour.

I did just by some lipgloss that I have taken to wearing on a regular basis though (I was inspired by Stinkerbelle's lipgloss thread of a while back). It's Revlon's LipGlide Sheer in Sheerly Melon. It really brightens up my new tan. But I about passed out at the $7.00 price tag! I am just not a make-up buyer.

honey honey honey...you have to watch the sales! You can get those BOGOF (buy one get one free) at Walgreens/Rite Aid/CVS every once in a while. :) I agree, $7 is alot for a Drugstore brand lip gloss...but if you watch the sales, you can make out like a bandit. (I'm gonna have to try that Sheerly Melon one!)

Try the Revlon Super Lustruous lip glosses - if you like orangy ones with a tan - Coral Glow is PERFECT! I love mine!

ok - I'm a makeup freak thank you very much.

No makeup, unless it's a major thing (Semi formal, NHS induction, and I'll wear some to prom next year). Beyond that none at all. I can't stand the stuff, and I save so much money by not having to replace it all the time.

I wear a little every day--even if I'm just running to the grocery store. It only takes about 5 minutes to put everything on--I'm definitely a low maintenance kind of girl. DH says I'm the only woman he knows who can get out the door so quickly! (I have curly wash-n-wear hair!) And I don't reapply makeup unless I'm going out somewhere fancy.

A little foundation under my eyes and on my nose (to even things out), a little eyeshadow and mascara. And I could not live without my eyeliner! Just a little smudge but it makes my eyes pop!

Now I NEVER wear lipstick--I've always hated it. I have thin lips and it just seems to draw attention to that. Plus I always end up getting more on my teeth and any glass I happen to be drinking out of! Just plain old Carmex for me, thanks! My lips do seem to have a naturally rosy pink color so I don't really need it. Any color I buy looks so artificial!

Full face everyday, unless I'm just cleaning house. I have a most unpleasant complexion....sigh....

Cover stick, mascara, blush and something light on the lips for everyday.

The above plus foundation and eyeshadow for special occasions. (And I even break out the dreaded contact lenses!!)

Oh, and inexpensive cosmetics--I would much rather spend my money on a good bottle of wine. :teeth: ;)

No seriously, I wear cheap Cover Girl foundation. The expensive brands are more likely to make me break out.

If I'm not leaving the house or if I'm just going to the gym (or here lately, physical therapy), or Target, it's no make up.

If I know I'm going to be going out, seeing people I'll wear make up, which consists of loose powder, eyeliner, & eyeshadow.

The only time I wear lipstick is if I'm getting my portrait done. I have a tube of lipstick that I break out every year when we're getting our Christmas portraits done - LOL

I wish I had the complexion to go without foundation but I don't. I have freckles and I try to cover and even them out a little.

I wear full makeup to work and church. On Saturday I usually wear a little mascara and liner if I am running errands.

Some women at the Y come in on Sat. morning in full makeup-- they are the type that doesn't sweat like I do.

Okay...confession time. I bought some eyeshadow at the same time, but have NO idea how to wear it. Oh, make-up guru, can you help me?

I wear full makeup most days. I also have freckles and have very pale skin, so I have to wear makeup to make me look alive. I went out this weekend without makeup and stopped to look at myself in the mirror and nearly passed out. I didn't like what I saw. :scared1:

Practice Practice Practice.

I'm not one for elaborate eye makeup...I can't handle liquid liner - heck I look odd with ANY eyeliner on...so I keep my eye makeup very very simple. (besides, I like some funky colors - greens mainly - which are best worn solo)

first - lightly apply some concealer to your eyelids - just the lids, nothing else, and let that 'set' for a minute or 2. (this will hopefully keep your shadow there all day and not pull a disappearing act by noon.)

what color did you buy? is it "sheer" or very very dark when applied? I would just do a very sheer "wash" of color over your eyelid, nothing more, if it's a very light/sheer color, you could bring it up a bit higher over the 'crease' of your eye. use the sponge applicator it came with (or a nice brush if you have one) and just lightly apply over your lid. that's all.

what brand did you buy? I find covergirl/maybelline shadows to be crap (but that's JMO)...love revlon and JANE for drugstore brands.

I bought Maybelline because it came in an 8 pack with all kinds of different colors, and I had no idea what colors would look good on me. They are very light colors (I was WAY to chicken to try dark ones!).

So I need concealer now too?!?! Ugh...this make-up thing is very complicated! I feel like I'm failing Girl 101!

hahahaha...No worries! You can skip the concelear...I have "oily lids" so eyeshadow just does a disappearing act.

Maybelline is actually good for you to start with - they are relatively sheer to begin with. Have fun with them!

Trust me - I JUST started "playing" with makeup this past year...I must have looked hideous through HS/college! heheheh

i am very light. I usually only put eyeliner and mascara on everyday, but if i go out then i definitly put on a whole face. I just don't see the need to put it on when i am around a bunch of kids all day who don't care what i look like:rolleyes:

I don't need foundation, so I only wear a sunblock moisturizer and some concealer (the MUST of my regimen) then I use a translucent powder (cannot have an ounce of color or it turns orange). I put a neutral eyeshadow (one that is the same color of my skin) on my eyelids to even out the color because of those pesky raccoon eyes I naturally have. Then some eyeliner, mascara and lipstick.

I think it was Salma HAyek who said it takes alot of makeup to make her look like she's not wearing any...and I have to say the same holds true for me. Most men cannot believe I wear any makeup...they just don't know the secrets.
